Remarks

I applied for Handique Girls College, Cotton University etc. So I got my name in the second list mostly because it was Covid time and the cuttoffs were extremely high which made it difficult for admission so finally I chose USTM after getting to know about the available course. I chose my college because of the availability of a course like BA Administration and Governance which is an early start of civils preparation or any other government exam preparation.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

We had 15 students in total which included 7 boys and 8 girls. Yes we had cultural, regional and belief differences. We belonged to different religions and cultures. Our peer group was nice and quite participatory

Internships Opportunities

2

Internships were available only for the BBA and MBA students So we don’t have much idea about the internships available for us There were companies all around India to recruit students from our college

Placement Experience

2

We didn’t get placements so I have almost zero idea regarding placements availability. All I know is that placements were only for BBA and MBA students. Placement offers came from Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee was quite high honestly. Some students did get the scholarship to continue their studies. This was for the economically challenged students. My per semester fee was 50,000 and my Hostel fee per month was 7350. For total 6 months I paid almost 1 lakh and for the whole course around 6 lakhs including the hostel and course fee. Other miscellaneous expenses were there from my side. I would say there is a need for having an economically stable environment to opt for this course unless one has got through scholarship

Campus Life

2

Sports facilities were available for the other courses. We have a gym available for both girls and boys Yes relatives and can visit the campus at a designated time We have joint cafeterias And the medical centre has qualified doctors and nurses Nightlife was not available for us because we were not allowed to leave our hostels after 5 During any fest or function we jade exceptions and were allowed There were tons of cultural nights and fests which happened and their were debates and quizzes and sports along with it

Hostel Facilities

2

Yes we had separate hostels for girls and Boys. More than over a 100 per boys and girls hostel. Yes fooding is included in hostel fees Food quality is fine and the food varies everyday Yes there are a few guards at our hostel We had a common washroom and included washrooms for a few. Washrooms were cleaned everyday Washrooms were there in every floor Around 5 common washrooms were there Attached washrooms with 5-6 rooms were avail and

Exam Structure

The admission process was done through an entrance exam. The questions were straightforward what a civils paper would look like. Again merit was another pointer to apply for the entrance exam. A minimum of 75% was required to sit for the entrance examination

Faculty

2

Students do fail in internals if they haven't study . The best aspect about MBA is that it's a professional course and the big disadvantage is for that student who didn't pay attention upon himself practically in these two course years. There are total 20-22 exams per year in two semester in which there are practical and theoretical subjects both. Total 6 classes takes place in a day and 30 - 50 min of lunch break in between. The faculty that I love the most is the ex coordinator of MBA that is Mr. Ashok sen Gupta sir , he helped me alot in every way . As I wasn't able to attend the classes as I was admitted in the hospital because of some health issues at that time he provided me the notes and everything so that I can revise all the chapters that were been taught in the classes. The attandance is mandatory 75% , if anyone's attendance is below 75% then the internal marks are not provided to that student.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The way they prepare the question is the main reason for me to choose this college. They really provide not only bookish knowledge but also how to deal with the real world. The examination that they conduct are very reasonable because they give us the amount of time that a normal students need to be prepared for an examination. So I think it's quite reasonable and nice.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the different types of interest that I have are present here in this course, and as I have said earlier that I have a keen interest in Law I don't have to think twice to choose this course. The curriculum is not up to the mark for applications in the real world, there are few discrepancies and inorder to match up the level outside we have to put a lot of efforts and leave no opportunities when we get them. Moot Courts should be conducted more often.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although this is a private college still it has recognition for the efficiency of this college. I wasn't interested in medicine and engineering. so I had to do a BSc so this college is one of the best in North East India. From the chemistry department, there are various scopes such as the food industry, oil industry, wax industry, ONGC, OIL, and various jobs. The teaching method is efficient and if there is any chance to improve then I would like to say that faculty should monitor that every student is being facilitated with proper materials.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculums include theory and clinics. Theory is done in the morning and clinics in the noon and practical in the afternoon. This curriculum is quite good to prepare us to become a good doctor, both in studies and in clinical practice. As the world is evolving in terms of technology, I believe there must be a more innovative way of teaching making use of all the technologies available for teaching such as PowerPoint, 3d models (real and virtual), etc. There must also be proper ventilation, cooling system, etc to help the students cope up with the weather of the college. There are 4 exams in a year which to me are too much. Besides the NEET PG exam will be MCQs so what is the point of doing objective questions and answers.

Remarks:

NIT Meghalaya is a decent institute as par as studies are concerned. You will have ample of chance to study and learn new stuffs, being a new institute you get a lot of stuffs and initiatives to be done and handled single handy which gives another chance not only to learn and showcase your skills but also to use it in future for organizing similar stuffs in future.Being a MeghNITe , it was always a cutting edge for me in interviews and people used to literally appreciate the exposure I had even from being a remote located college of India ( though it was not pretty different to what a normal NITian would had in other NIT).If you do same thing in limited resources to what your competitor does with ample of resources, even having same outcome it?Ûªs more likely to get appreciated and this is what happens when you are studying at new NIT.Coming to infrastructure : NIT M has decent labs ( comparable to even many of old IITs ) ,mix of youth ,energetic and quite experienced pool of faculties , prime location and technically sound students as college.I would suggest to go ahead with decision and consider it a fair Chance to study at NITM (Provided you do not have any better option).
