Course Curriculum Overview

2

Honestly, I feel the course needs a lot of improvements. The course curated by DU is mostly theoretical, with very slight practical variations. I guess, the ratio can be changed and a lot of practical elements can be added to make students industry ready. Excel, Powerbi, coding can be included to make it more inclusive and practical.

Internships Opportunities

3

The internship opportunities are nice. I mean, internships are less as compared to Placements. You will not get 500+ offers in case of internships. There are around 100-200 offers but in case you can secure one, the stipends are amazing. The highest stipend that was offered was 366667 per month by Bank of America and in case you can't secure one don't be disheartened. You have plenty of off campus opportunities.

Placement Experience

5

The students of final year are eligible for placements. A lot of companies visit SRCC.Numbers of offers are not same every year but we can take an average of 500-600 offers every year. The companies range in different areas. Most prominent among them are Finance, Consulting, Strategy. Few of the companies that visit regularly are: Nomura, Morgan Stanley, D.E. Shaw, HSBC etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

SRCC is not a very expensive college if you belong to a middle class family but still it is one of the most expensive college of DU. The fees you will be paying is 30000Rs yearly and this fees includes only your academic fees. The accomodation, books everything you will be paying for separately. Hence, if you are an outstation student, it becomes quite expensive. Somewhere around 6-7 lakhs (for a good accomodation), 4-5 lakhs if you are okay with an okay pg. This is restricted for General Category students. Other categories have different fees. There are some scholarships that you can get on the basis of your marks(merit) as well as your performance in interview every year.

Campus Life

5

There are a lot of clubs that are started as well as run by students themselves. You name a fijed, SRCC will have that club. I was interested in Finance, I got into D-street(Stock Market) and Finance and Investment Cell.People interested in music have Aarohan for them, People interested in Books have book club, for consulting people we have Shri Ram Consulting Centre and 180 DC. For the HR ones, you got Human Resource Development Cell and what not. Case competitions or events like Bhuvan Bam Visit, SR holds everything for you.

Admission

I got into every college/university I applied to. Before getting into SRCC, I had admission letters from IPU, Chandigarh University as well as Christ University. I got into all the colleges of DU as well. Now why did I go for SR is because of the brand value it has built. SRCC is considered as one of the best commerce college of Asia. Not just that, the faculty, the placements, the opportunities it offers all played a major role in me selecting SRCC out of the pool.

Faculty

3

The faculty is quite skilled and experienced. I have studied from even those professors whose books are recommended not just in entire DU but in a lot of other universities as well. The additional subjects like Skill Enhancement Subjects and Value addition subjects are taught by guest professors that are comparatively young and less experienced You may experience some bad teachers as nobody can help it you know but on an average, the faculty is nice and understanding. The exams are not very tough and only very few people fail them.

Night Life

3

Actually, I feel Mumbai is known for the night life but when you reside in North Campus, you definitely get a slight feel of that night life of Mumbai. There are tons of cafes in Hudson lane. If we talk about the closing time, there are various cafes that close around 10-11 PM, then there are various cafes that you can find open even if you go out at 2 in the morning. The hostel timings are very stringent.Although, I don't reside in hostel but the timings are that it closes at 8 PM for girls. In order to stay out after 8, you need to have an express permission from your parents as well as the warden.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculam is well-structured and covers all the core subject relevant to the field . It help in building strong theroritcial knowledge but lacks enough real-world case studies and industry exposure . Exam are conducted regularly and are of moderate difficulty . Adding more project-based or skill oriented components would make the course more practical and beneficial for placements or higher studies .

Placement Experience:

When students enter 3rd year of their college , they are eligible to sit for placements but should have minimum 8 CGPA .A lot of companiess visit campus , details of companies are on the website of college. The highest placement till now is 20 Lakhs per Annum and average goes around 6-7 Lakhs per Annum. A decent percentage of students get placed. Honestly most students here are pursuing professional courses so they don't sit for placements instead continue with their courses .
