Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum allows you to take up additional courses, which can be related to any department. This diversifies our skill set, and the labs here are very good. We get hand-on-learning experience. We get frequent projects, so it does prepare us for real world problems. Overall, the exams do not bother us much. But during the exam season, sometimes we have 2 papers in 1 day.
Internships Opportunities
As i am a first year student, i am not quite aware about the internship opportunities. I have been offered an internship at sprix during Rendezvous. My mentor has been offered internship in a good company. There are people doing intern at Google, Microsoft etc.
Placement Experience
I do not know much yet about placements. I think 7th semester students are eligible for campus placement. The highest package goes to crores. While the average is about 20 lakhs. Which is quite good. Many students also go for startups. And IITD, has a very good entrepreneurship culture.
Fees and Financial Aid
This is the breakdown for semester fees: Tution fee: 1,00,000 One time payment: 8150 Other Charges: 6,250 Refundable Caution Deposit: 8000 Total: 1,22,400 This is for General/OBC with annual family income greater than 5 lakhs
Campus Life
Rendezvous: october (india's biggest cultural fest) Beacon: November Tryst: January There are all sorts of books available in the central library. While the literary club has their own library. Classrooms are equipped with all the latest edtech equipments. Best sports facilities available in campus
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are good. There is paid cleaning available. There is laundry available. The hostel provides gym, readin room, dance room, music room, common room, TV room. The mess menu is changed every month. Some days the food us very delicious, some days it's not.
Admission
I did not apply to any other college. The admission process to IIT, Delhi is through JEE Advanced. You have to qualify both JEE Mains and JEE Advanced to get into IIT. JEE is well known exam over the world, famous for its high difficully.
Faculty
The faculty members are very knowledgeable, but lack teaching skills. They are at the top in their fields, but departing knowledge requires another skill set. We do have many Teaching Assistants, so the Faculty student ratio is good. I personally do not like any faculty member i have studied from till date. The exams are easy, and i haven't seen many people fail.
