What Students Say
Likes
- One of the best aspects of this college is that in veery class of every batch, there is a faculty who is appointed as mentor for every 20 students. It's their job to ensure the students attendance, academic performance, and to solve any issues faced.
- There are continuous assessments for students which makes them brush up their syllabus frequently while the examinations held are under strict vigilance. The professors also assign mini projects which might be individual or team led .
- There are numerous technical and non-technical clubs via which if a student is attentive and productive might land up on an early internships and many other kinds of lucrative opportunities. There are also events such as debates, hackathons and fests
Dislikes
- The hostels although safe might sometimes be overwhelming due to some unnecessary rules and regulations. The guards although friendly and supportive, this might not be the same in case of some of the wardens or employees of campus admin office.
- There are some regulations in campus which might seem less sensible such as not allowing more than 3 people in a room ( not even from the same hostel) .
- There were some instances where the hygiene of the mess could be called questionable. This was rare but there were such cases.
Course Curriculum Overview
The academic curriculum at this college which requires a student to be attentive and regular instills a sense of discipline and consistency which helps them outside while pursuing a career and doing so. The teachers always provide us with an optimal path in order to succeed in our future endeavors. The times of exams are varying- The CA's or the continuous assessments are of 20-25 marks having a time duration of 1 hour. The mid-semester exams are also of 20 marks and 1 hour. The end-semester final examinations depend on the number of credit given to the course. So, the duration of the examination might be 1.5 hour, 2 hours or 2.5 hours.
Internships Opportunities
The companies which offer internships are Google, Tata, Wipro, Mahindra, DRDO, Amazon as well as many new startups which are eager to get fresh new minds to work under their guidance. Students can apply for internships from the first year itself depending on their qualifications and proficiency.
Placement Experience
Students can apply for campus placements from their 3rd year or the 5th semester. A number of companies usually visit us during placements such as PhonePe, Amazon, IBM, Mahindra, TATA, Dassault, Nvidia and may more. The highest package which I observed was 48LPA 2 years back and the average package is about 9 LPA. The percentage of students getting placements is about 100% IN CSE, 94% in AI&ML, 98% in E&TC. After graduation I plan on getting work experience for a couple years and then go for an MBA degree from a reputed university.

The annual tuition fees for Symbiosis Institute Of Technology, Pune is about Rs.3,12,000 (Three lakh, twelve thousand rupees only. Campus Life
There are many events taking place in our campus all around the year which includes our Techfest-Symbitech, our sports fest- Protathlitis and our annual fest REVERB. Reverb and Protathilitis take place in September and October while Symbitech if organized in February. There are 2 libraries which are accessible for all SIT students one is the in-campus library and the other one is the SIU library located in our hilltop campus. Both of them provide a wide range of books, magazines and newsletters as well as journals. They are usually open from 8 am till 8 pm which are further extended during examination times for preparation of students. There are many sports facilities available in the campus such as a gymnasium, volleyball court, tennis court, basketball court, a football turf as well as a mud ground . There are also facilities available in the Hilltop campus such as an indoor badminton court, a swimming pool, football ground and cricket nets . A hostel room accommodates 3 students. The amenities provided are- an attached toilet as well as a bathroom, beds, study tables, shelves, a shoe rack, cupboards, fan, rods for drying clothes, and unlimited Wi-Fi. There is a mess committee which decides the menu for every week and it is posted every Sunday evening or Monday mornings. The meal qualities can be varying. Sometimes the food is delicious and good quality while sometimes there might be issues related to hygiene or even the subtle taste. Students can register for hostels through the website provided by the college by simple paying the fees for hostel and mess. The hostel rooms are given on first come first serve basis so make sure you register early for an in campus hostel. There are also off-campus pg's and hostels information about which can be procured from the administration office.
Admission
I also applied to SRM Institute of Technology, VIT( Vellore Institute of Technology). I chose SIT over my other options because of the teacher to student ratio and also because of the location of this college which is in Pune therefore it provides a large number of opportunities since many industries and software companies are based in the same city. The placement rates and average package is also better the many of the colleges of the same tier.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio can be stated in 2 cases which are - theory classes and labs or tutorials. the ratio in theory classes might be 60:1 or 70:1 while in labs and tutorial sessions it is about 20:1. Most of the faculties are quite supportive and can be approached almost all through the work timings of the college and some even after that but there are also those who dwell too much on technicalities which can be seriously inconvenient for new students. There are many faculties who are incredibly helpful such as Dr. Smut Kumar, Dr Anurag Mahajan, Dr. Pratiksha Bhavsar, Dr Prasad Kantipudi as well as our HOD Dr Pritesh Shah. There are some faculty members who as said earlier might give a tough time to new students on the sole basis of technicalities
