Course Curriculum Overview
I really liked Mathematics from my schoooling days thats why I opted for this course. I got to learn various new things during this course. I learned about data analysis, finance management, linear programming etc. I also learned various new softwares such as Mathematica, R Lab. College also provide a General Elective subject of student's choice in which I pursued Computer Science and learned about Python, HTML, Computer Networking, Cyber Security, Laws and Crimes.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly course fee is near about 20,000/-. Average fees for complete course will be between 50,000-60,000 for 3 years. They also charge a minimum security deposit which is refundable when you pass out. The college also provide various scholarships for the meritorious students. There is no difference in fee structure on category basis. Although one can claim scholarships if he/she fall under such category mentioned in the scholarship program. The college provide half fee concessions to the economically weaker students who scores more than 80% in their academics.
Campus Life
Since I got admission during COVID-19 half of my college life was online. But the other half was also great. I had lot of fun with my mates whether it was during studies or any other activities. College support co-curricular activities and therefore have a variety of socities like dance, music, poetry, sports club etc. College also organises a inter college dance competition every year during April and there annual fest KALRAV during last week of April or mid May. College also has a huge library comprises of all kinds of books. Library incharge issues a card for all students using which they can access library resources. All the classrooms are equipped with modern teaching equipments along with the projectors. College also offers sports quota to promote sportsmanship and provide all necessary sports equipment to promote sports. Main focus is on Basketball, Badminton and Cricket. College also organises an inter-department cricket tournament in the campus every year. They also take students to various inter university tournaments and students grab medals and bring fame to the college.
Admission
I also applied in Satyawati College and Keshav Mahavidyalaya. My admission was confirmed in Satyawati College but than I switched to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College because many of my school seniors were already pursuing courses from this College. So I already had a glance about college and its faculty members. Moreover, in DDUC the environment is really nice. The facilities that they provide no other DU college provides. Fully furnished classrooms, well lit with centralised AC all this attracted me towards this college. During my time the admission was on merit basis. But now one has to attempt CUET in order to get admission in any of the DU colleges. The admission process is simple you need to register your CUET score on Delhi University site and when the University declares the cutoff you have to apply to the specific college in which your marks are falling.
Faculty
College have a decent number of staff members. There are around 10-15 professors in each department. Each department has a head with whom students can directly interact if they face any problem in the course or with any other faculty members. The best faculty whom I liked in the Mathematics Department is Dr. Sudha Arora. She is really very kind and gentle lady. She listens to the problems of students keenly and always try to find out best possible solutions for the students. I never liked Mr. Amlendu (Complex Analysis Professor) during my college days. He always used to shout unnecessarily in class and mess with the students. Moreover, his teaching methods were also out of my reach. The course provided is divided into 6 semesters and 3 years. Each year consists of 2 semester with examination helding twice every year along with the practicals. The exams are mostly moderate and most of the students around 90% pass in the examination. Faculty also supports students and provide good grades in internal assessments.
