- Facilities provided are top notch. There are gym, basketball court, cricket pitch, football ground and more
- Crowd is good here. People from both UP and bihar come here to study
Dislikes
- Attendance issue is prevalent here as 75% attendance is mandatory which is not good for professional courses
- The quality of education and teacher is not up to the mark as most teachers are alumni of nameless colleges
- The faculty is lazy and administration rude. Student matters are not heard properly
Course Curriculum Overview
The course follows NEP 2020. The curriculum was updated in 2020 due to the implementation of NEP by government. The flexibility of chosing electives made me choose this course i.e B.Tech (IT). The curriculum makes us industry ready by implementing practicals and theory in right proportion unlike outdated courses. The teaching methodology is quite good and teachers makes sure we understand every topic well. Exams are conducted frequently. Once every 2 months we have internals and once every 6 months we have mid sems and once every 12 months we have end sem exams totaling 200 marks.
Placement Experience
Placement scenioro here is decent. Students get placed in reputed companies like TCS, wipro and psu like BHEL. Students become eligible for placement from 7th semester. Companies like TCS, Wipro, zomato, swiggy have visited the campus and 56 offers were made in total by these companies. Highest package offered was 20 lakh and the average is 4 lakh offered by mass recruiters like TCS. 70% students ended up getting placed I plan on doing M.Tech from IIT after B. Tech
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure for B. Tech (IT) in hemvati nandan bahuguna garhwal university is clearly laid down in their brochure by the university authorities. 4 year fee for this program is approx ?90000 Year wise breakup is as follows:- 1st year:- 28000 2nd year:- 22000 3rd year:- 22000 4th year:- 22000 Hostel charges are ?5000 per year Monthly mess charges are ?3300 There are no other fees except from the ones mentioned above All my batchmates pay same fee As this is a central university with low fee there are no scholarship options provided by the university itself
Campus Life
Many fests are organised here from time to time. Such as Ananta fest and concerts. Annual fuction are also held from time to time. Fests are organized in winters in nov and december. University gives free books to all the students and every book is readily available. Projectors are present im classes in amazing condition and benches are comfy too. Sporting activities are also conducted here regularly. Competition are regularly held here and the team formed here goes on to national competition too. Coding clubs and extracurricular groups are present here and they conduct activities regularly
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are big enough for 2 members. 2 desks are provided along with an almirah with a lock to keep belonging safe. Meals are nutritious and hot. Menus are changed every day to keep variety and not let the student be bored. For hostel registration you have to fill a form and submit it to the head office and later on a merit list comes.
Admission
I applied to many other central university in my CUET list. I got confirmed admission from BBAU in electical engineering and HNBGU in Information technology. I chose this college over other because i was getting my preferred course and i wanted to do my btech in hilly area due to personal preference.i also apllied to CUH but my marks were not high enough to get into it. Hnbgu accepts student seeking admission in it through CUET exam. Cutoff goes generally low here as its not too popular.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio in school of engineering and technology where technology courses such as btech and mtech are conducted is pretty good. Approx ratio is 1:20. They are very approachable and polite with students who come to them with their professional and personal problems. I really liked my chemistry professor whose name is Dr. Naresh kumar because he is very knowledgeable and polite with students. He is very soft spoken too. I didn't like Dr. Rahul saini as he is very strict. There are internals and external exams throughout the year of 100 marks each. They are easy to score in and doesn't require much attention. There rarely are students who fail in btech.
