I would rate curriculum around 8 out of 10. It consists of all the crucial subjects related to biology feild like biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, pharmaceutical technology, genetics and the curriculum also comprises of basic engineering courses like engineering designing, basic maths, artificial intelligence etc. There are labs and praticals for each couurse which helps students to apply thereotical principles to real life experiments and problems making the student fit for industrial work. Teaching with props or other things to grasp student attention can be done in order to improve student participation.

Both technical and non technical internships are available and both summer and 6 month internships are available to 3rd and 4th year students. Barclays, jp morgan. delloite, american express are some of the companies offering technicala nd non technical intern roles with a stipened of 1 to 2 lakhs per month.

The on campus placements for technical as well as non technicals jobs is pretty decent. Companies like JP Morgand And Chase, ZS, Barclays are some of the mass recruiters For biotechnology though there is very little placements for biotechnology core. Most of the graduates either go for higher education like mtech or MS or they go for jobs in technical feilds.

The fees for btech biotechnology for a year is 6 lakhs approximately for the year 2022 onwards and with every year the course fees increases. The examination fees is around 3000, student security fees is 10000,admission fees is 13000,medical fees is 500, tuition fees is 129300,development fees is 55000, student activities charge is around 7500 for general quota The fees for other branches like computer sciences, electronics, electrical is comparitively higher. for computer sciences and electronics it is around 8 lakhs per year Various scholarships are available like the tiet merit cum means scholarship(normal) for student with gross family income of less than 10 lakhs and with a cgpa of 7.00 with no backlogs , tiet merit cum mean scholarship(lateral entry)- for students gross family income of less than 10 lakhs and aggregate 70% at diploma level and tiet merit cum mean scholarship(special).- for deserving case of UG students not covered in tiet merit cum means scholarship normal.

The extra curriculum at this university is excellent. There are numerous clubs and socities and each society has its own events. There are technical and cultural events organized throughout the year to keep students engaged. Various competitions are organized and students compete across different activities. Sports are also considered very important and varoius inter and intra college sports competitions are organized to keep the spirit of students high. Saturnalia is the flagship event of thapar, it is a 3 day techno cultural event with numeroud activities, competitions intra and inter college. It is organised during the end of november Urja is an inter college sports fest organised during feb The campus life is very great, the library is one of the oldest and largest with almost all types ofbooks availbe to read and issue and with a seating capacity for more than 500 students.

There are different hostels for girls and boys and different buildings for different years. 1st,2nd,3rd,4th years all are in differnt hostels. The overall living conditions are very clean and neat and different hostels have different fee structure as well. The rooms are cleaned regulargy and even the hostel is cleaned on a daily basis Laundry services are also available in hostel itself and is included in hostel fees The overall food quality is also very good and hygenic. Lcal PG are availabe outside the campus and are nearby.

I applied for tiet as it gave an overall idea and deep knowledge about the various feilds of biotechnology and not just one. Here the students are not just limited to their own course but they can be involoved in other feilds as well if they wish to. I was selected in delhi university as well for bsc zoology in shivaji college but i chose thapar over DU as here the exposure in terms of academics and extra curriculum is far better then delhi university. For btech biotechnology the neet score and 12th pcb percentage is taken in account. For other feilds of btech, jee percentile and 12th scorecard of pcm is taken in account. Admissions are done online and after the online counselling there is a spot counselling round at the end which is done by coming at the campus itself

The faculty ratio is very suitable in thapar university. The faculty here is very approchable for any doubts or any queries. They are happy to help us and guide the students anytime they want. Biotechnology faculty is very serious about the curriculum and about the exams. The faculty tries not only to teach theriotically but also practically with a lot of practicals being included in the course. Exams are counducted twice in a semester(mid sems and end sems) along with varoius quizzes in each semester. The exams are easy but logical based and practical as well as thereotical knowledge must be applied. less than 30% students fail to clear the exam and give re exam.
