Course Curriculum Overview
Unless and until you have a literary bent dont opt for this course. Teachers are very serious about what they teach and expect from their students. It requires indulgence and non stop interaction. It evolves you as a person. Once you understand what literature is, there wont be any going back because by then trust me, you have already fallen in love with the subject .
Internships Opportunities
We mainly worked with the NGOs as a volunteer. We participated in the mask drive where we provided 1000 school children with masks in collaboration with Gautam Gambhir Foundation. We made groups of under priviledged students and taught them the basics of primary education. We often donated stationary stuffs to these students through a platform known as Leaders for tomorrow.
Placement Experience
My course was a non professional one. So, it didnt offer any placement, but the other professional courses of my college offered great opportunities and package worth working for. My course requires an M. A degree and a PH.D to get into the profession of teaching unlesa to want to go ahead with content creation and digital media stuff.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is quite modest and fairly governmental. The admission fee was nearly about 8000 and required re admission every year. However, the fee structure varies for other courses. The faculty was great. The canteen is super affordable and sticks to its operation in a government college in terms of price and affordability. The fee is same for every category whether it be ( general obc, SC or ST). My course didnt offer placements but professional courses like B.Com and B. A Economics offers huge career and placement opportunities. ( One even went upto 19 lakhs).
Campus Life
My overall experience was a great one. I was a part of many clubs and an important part of the Art and Literary club of my college. It organised various workshops. Tremendous participation in competitions where the price money was modest. Gave a platform to many budding poets, authors and writers. Organised Mushairas and so many other forms of art that made our experience a rich one.
Admission
I chose this college because my 12th standard percentage was appropriately fulfilling its eligibility criteria. I wanted to get into Lady Shri Ram College, which is also a Delhi University college, but didnt have enough percentage for it. My college was different to this college in terms of infrastructure and crowd, otherwise the faculty was great.. The admission process is very hectic. There are so many processes that need to be dealt in detail and great no of attachments of original certificates are required.
Faculty
Faculty members were great. Very learned faculty. There is no heirarchy among students and teacher. Students have their opinion and teachers respect and consider them. There is an exhaustive evaluation that takes place after the assignments. Feedbacks play a significant role. Attendance is not much an issue. Excursions are organised and many events take place to expand the experience of literatis. Exams are divided in two phases yearly( Sem 1 and sem 2) . Its moderate to easy and not difficult until you havent studied at all.
