- As a engineering college, environment makes students enthusiastic for tech stuffs. In this college many there has nice coding culture, along with supportive environment in open innovations and various TECH FESTS take place every year which motivates.
- Along with the Green-Life, ragging free campus, there has many sport activities like indoor(badminton, table-tennis, chess, carrom, billiards ) or outdoor games(cricket, football).
- Supportiveness and helpfulness of every faculty, they teach every students in quite innovative ways. Mentors are being assigned to every students for any kind of support they need, they can reach out to the faculty mentor for every problems.
Dislikes
- In my personal opinion, college canteen should to be more cleaned.
- Gym for this college are needed to be opened
- Needed to open cafeteria perfectly and make the common room accessible for every students for college hours
Course Curriculum Overview
As a CSE student, I would say that choosing CSE was a pre-built interest of myself and JISCE college gives every interested students the perfect opportunity to work, learn and grow by themselves. Core subjects of CSE, which are so much important to crack any tech interviews (does't matter if it's a developer or a SDE job), DATABASES, Compiler Designs, Operating Systems, Networking, UNIX are being taught. For suggestion, if any proper roadmap for new technologies like - ML / Cloud Networking if added to course curricullam from 2nd year, it would be better for students to understand the basics of CS engineering within 2nd year instead of subjects like : Analog Electronics and more. However as I said previously, Exam paper is moderate-tough, if any student doesn't study in proper way, they will fail definately.
Internships Opportunities
For internship, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Swiggy, Facebook (META) are the top companies, which comes every year in JISCE. Rather than it, Deloitte , Accenture, IBM andmany more companies are available for internship opportunities in JISCE
Placement Experience
Yeah campus placements are there. But I would love to follow my passion for IITs, Subjects I am studying, I have a further plans to do M.Tech and higher studies. Previously, 22 LPA is highest package, Average package is 5.6 LPA. 70-80% of students are placed within Tech/Non-Tech companies according to their skills.
Fees and Financial Aid
As I am a student who took admission in 2023, fee structure for 2023-27 B.Tech batch of the college accroding to brunches and semester 1-8 is following: CSE/CSE (AI&ML)/CST/IT/ ECE (Without Scholarship): Average 1.5Lakhs per year (In 4 years: 6.05 Lakhs) ECE (With Scholarship) : Average 1.3Lakhs per year (In 4 years: 5.21 Lakhs) CE / ME / EE / BME(Biomedical Engineering) / AE(Agricultural Engineering) - (Without Scholarship): Average 1.5 Lakhs per year (In 4 years: 6.05 Lakhs) CE/ME/BME/EE/AE (With Scholarships): 1.02 Lakhs per year (In 4 years: 4.1Lakhs) Now It's about scholarship. For Domicile of West Bengal Or which student has 60% marks (in PCM) can have the scolarship : SVMCM (Swami Vivekananada Merit-Cum-Means), will be eligable for this. In this Scholarship, student can get 60k rupees/year if they full fill all the terms and condititions for getting this schrolarship. Rather than this, For Girls there has many scholarship given by West Bengal Government.
Campus Life
JISTECH : The largest tech fest of West Bengal is belonged to JIS College Of Engineering. The most active clubs in JISCE is : Coding Club (I'm core member in coding club), Photography Club, Environment and Science Club. maJIStic: The anual cultural fest of JISCE. In every year, 2 days of of cultural fest takes place.
Admission
Well as every IIT-JEE aspirant, every students have dream to crack it and make ways to IITs, Top NITs or IIITs, I also had and for being ill for my IIT-JEE times, I was not able to make mine. However, from my personal perspective, as JISCE is situated near my home, it's far better to take admission in this college without overwhelemed journey. In West Benal, there has many college but NAAC A acreecated and UGC approved JISCE would be a best choice for me and took this college for admission.
Faculty
Faculty student ratio: 8:1 (Faculties are way descent in the way they approach to students and also helpfull for students) Every faculties are way very special for their own teaching techniques. Specially HOD of Dept. of CSE Dr. Bikramjit Sarkar sir and other teachers specially, Ms. Jayeeta Ghosh, Ms. Jayshree Bhattacharya, Dr. Sanket Dan, In Dept. of BSHU Dr. Debashish Majumdar: are way very friendly and their teaching approaches are way too good that any student can catch up if any new concept are being taught. Now in exams: In every semester, 2 Internal exams take place where as in ever year 6 exams are being conducted (Including Mid term and End Sems). As a 2nd year student, exams papers standards are way modarate to tough that unlike 5-15% students of every department can be failed if they don't study in regular basis. Course curriculam is better to get a potential student to be industry ready.
