Course Curriculum Overview

3

I always wanted to be a Lawyer since 8th grade as I knew I was quite good at debating and writing, the curriculum definitely prepares you well for the real world, but most of your legal learning is done during moots and internships, the teachers can inculcate better means to teach, example being introduce more technology as that is the way of the future, the exams and assignments can be frequent with one main one each month and the teachers assigning more otherwise and they can be quite tough but I think that's more to attribute with the course in general.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Most internships are unpaid, you usually get paid around the 4th or 5th year, companies such as Trilegal, SAM, CAM, Luthra and Luthra, KSK and such are great to intern at. Interning generally just means going and watching the proceedings and helping your seniors with their cases and research and such.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placements are good, students can sit from final year, some get placed in 4th year itself. Companies and Firms such as Trilegal, SAM and CAM come and offer great packages varying from 8 Lakh LPA to 26 Lakh LPA, average is usually 13-15 Lakh LPA, after this degree I would like to do my MBA from UOT or NUS

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees is 2.5 Lakh's, I didn't have to pay any extra cause I wasn't an OCI or an NRI. My friends that fall under this category have to pay 2.75 Lakhs and 3 Lakhs. Scholarships are there but you should write a test for it. I didn't have any scholarship. Overall this college offers a more affordable course than most other colleges, eg. Jindal Global Law School.

Campus Life

2

Very happening campus life, lots of major clubs and competitions, the library is top notch with nearly every book you can think of. Various football, cricket and basketball grounds are present, the SWO, CSA and such help in outreach too.

Admission

I got a confirmed admission from JGLS but I didn't take it due to the extremely expensive fee structure. I chose Christ cause it's the second best law school in Bangalore after NLSIU, Christ is also definitely one of the top 3 law schools in the country (Private). They have their own entrance called the Christ University Law Entrance Examination (CULEE), after that there is an entrance and micro presentation. Eligibility is any curriculum such as CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE, IB. Cutoff is 65% if I'm not wrong

Faculty

2

The faculty is very diverse, this means that some are very approachable, some aren't, it's a mixed bag. Love Vidya ma'am, Stalin sir and Philos sir, wonderful teachers. I don't outright dislike any faculty but I wish some of them would teach in a bit more student friendly manner. The exams can be quite tough, many times materials and the topics aren't properly provided which can make it even harder.

Placement Experience:

The placements of Christ University Bangalore, are pretty decent. Students are eligible to get placements for the 9th semester, and there are a lot of companies that come for campus placements like Shardul Amrchnad Mangaldas and Cyril Amrchand Mangaldas, Khaitan, Puviyah and co., Trilegal and etc. The highest placement that went last year was 23 lakh, and the average placement is 6-7 lakhs. My plan is to do litigation after getting a degree.

It's the law firms like Wadia Gandhy, Dsk Legal, Trilegal and others. Some merchant bankers too are now a part of our placements thing and this is where it is getting interested as we are getting to explore new opportunities. Pay as of now is around 4-5 LPA but I hope it increases to atleast 10 by 2030.

Placements are okay not so good because of the field as Law doesn't have much placements because it is only given in corporate sector and other things people only have to get employment like for Self employment.

The university has a placement cell which is helpful. They help us get internships in which place we want (only if we are eligible). The placements are nice which are reported by the seniors. We got to know that most of the seniors had a starting package of 7L per annum.

Mostly it's the law firms like Indus Law, Globus, PICT and others. The payment scale therefore is less when it is compared with NLSIU or other NLUs. Some private companies like the UB Group and ITC amoung other others are also coming to hire students who have chosen corporate law as their main electives.
