Likes

The infrastructre is one of the best among all DU colleges. It has indoor badminton court, shooting range, football ground, basketball court, cricket pitch, archery.
The vibe of the college is very good and the library is also one of the best.
The crowd of Hansraj is top notch and very posh. Students from all walks of life are there in Hansraj.

Dislikes

You dont get to use the sports facility unless you are a professional sports player or got enrolled through sports quota.
The attendance has become strict since past 2 years which is not good because in college one needs to explore and take part in ECA rather than study and score top marks.
The classes get cancelled very often. You cannot say that a class will take place until one hour before the class timing. Its that bad!

Course Curriculum Overview

Doing Bcom Hons from Hansraj College is something that is a big deal. Being a general student it was a dream come true to get Bcom Hons( the most demanded course of DU) and that too in a top college like Hansraj. The course curriculum is very relevant to today's time. The practicals and lectures are engaging. They can get monotonus at times but overall it is a great experience to purse Bcom Hons. Exams take place in Dec/Jan and April/May along with Class tests a month or two before the exams. The exams are moderate level and one can easily score good CGPA in it.

Internships opportunities are provided in various profiles ranging across Finance, Research, Marketing, Human Resource, Content Writing etc. Top companies including Paytm, The Economic Times, Bajaj Finserv, Astro Talk, Cars 24, Honda, iFortis and many more provided internships to the students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly Fees : 28500 Our college also provides scholarships for PwD, Single girl child, and orphan students. Our college provides admission at a mere cost of ?10 for the orphans. The fees for Pwd and Single girl child is also comparatively less than the General students.

Campus Life

There are several number of clubs in hansraj, the notables include Comsoc, TedX, Enactus, Statecraft, Placement cell and many more. A lot of events and fests keep on taking place in our college. A number of unoffical freshers are also organised by the seniors. Social groups include NSS and NCC which primarily focuses on providing social service.

Admission

First of all, for Bcom Hons. there is only one college better than Hansraj and that is SRCC. Apart from SRCC there is no other college that surpasses Hansraj in Bcom Hons. No private/goverment college comes close to Hansraj.

Faculty

Faculty is top notch. Experienced teachers in their respective fields. Cooperative and also great way of teaching. Overall great and genuinely educated faculty. There are 3 core subjects and 4 minor subjects in Bcom Hons. The marking scheme for all of them are 90 marks through exams and 70 through internals making it a total of 160marks. The difficulty level of exams are moderate and internals include Class test, Powerpoint Presentation, Assignments, Class activity etc. Some of the notable faculty members of Bcom Hons.: Shalu Mam, Sonal Gupta Mam, Ashok Kumar Sir.

Yes our college provides placements to the student and the students who are in their final semester(6 semester) are eligible for the placement. The companies which comes to college are Kpmg, dillote, Ey, bain and company etc. The average package is around 9 lakh and the highest package is 36.5 lakh.

Placement Experience:

Students of 3rd semester become eligible for campus placements. Companies like pwc, EY, deloitte has visited our campus and offered packages according to the competency of student. 35-40% people do get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to move abroad and pursue ACCA.

Hansraj college- A blessing

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is really relevant and comprehensive. For eg in bcom we study business law, company law, Human Resources management, marketing, financial and corporate accounting, finance, busines maths, stats, income tax, cost accounting, economics as ge so all these are really great well structureda and do have real life practical applications therefore i think my course is really very well aligned and comprehensive in terms of the business world.

7The college that I'm currently studying in is the best for my course. It had always been on my top preference. The NIRF Ranking of Hansraj college is 3, which the other two colleges not offering my course. So Hansraj had always been my first preference. I had applied in other colleges as well which had a lower preference, however i got my first preference in the first round of counselling so i did not really get a rejection from other colleges. The reason is kept Hansraj on my first preference was it's NIRF ranking over the years compared to the other colleges offering the same course. The admission process is quite simple. First of all, you have to write the CUET exam, following which apply in DU via the CSAS portal. After that the university allots you a college based on your course and college preference that you have to submit. So it is very important that you make the preference list wisely in order to get a good college in addition to scoring good in the CUET exam. The cut off for certain courses like economics, bcom and physics are quite high but for other courses they are pretty much achievable....Read More

For all colleges of the Delhi University, applicants are accessed on the basis of the Common University Enteance Test, the CUET.
