Likes

Great weather and nature scenaries covered around hills.
Nice if u want to enjoy nature and go for trekking and hiking.
Girls to boys ratio is one of the best. It is like 3 boys to 1 girls.

Dislikes

Some faculty are good and some are straight up bad.
Examination are hard and competitive for an engineering College.
Different culture and different food but u can adjust.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good and is NBA accredited. Tere are no outdated subjects. They also have latest trendy subject such as AI and cybersecurity. Curriculum is nice and updated . Teaching methods can be bit pratical . The examination frequency is too frequent.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are good. Numerous companies take place in the internship drive. The stipend is from 10000 to 50000. Project work is also there if u don't want internship. Microsoft, Dell , TCS etc give internship.

Placement Experience

Students are eligible from 6th semester to go for placement and internship. The average package for CSE is 5.5 LPA. Microsoft , Dell , TCS , Infosys etc do visit the campus. The highest is 50 LPA. Almost 90 percent placement rate.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for my Course is 340000 and for Hostel and Mess it is around 130000. So in Total I pay 470000 Yearly. There is also a refundable deposit of 5000 after the admission. There are numerous PG around college.

Campus Life

Campus Life is excellent and cheerful. The crowd is excellent. The weather is nice and the hills look and rivers looks pleasing to eyes. The library is huge. There also technical fest and annual fests taking place. Sports and extracurricular are also good. Clubs are nice.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is good. There is attached bathroom in each room. Mess food is average and decent and is very manageable. Hostel and mess is affordable. There are PGs also around college. The food is also great in PGs.

Hostel Fee: INR 130000 per year

Admission

I applied for various colleges such as VIT and KIIT but selected SMIT because of weather, near to my hometown, and great campus with a peaceful environment. I made to VIT and KIIT but due toouch crowd, I rejected the offer. Admission process is easy , there is MET Test to clear and that's it. The cutoff is easy to clear.

Faculty

Some Faculty are good and some are just straight up bad. Some faculty even don't know basic coding but some faculty are just too good. The faculty ratio is 6:1.The examination is hard and competitive. The marking schemes seems outdated. There are 2 sessional and 2 quiz then an End sem to end the semester. Fail ratio is less but it's there.

first impressions

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester onwards. companies in which some of the big names are DELL, ACCENTURE, INFOSYS, STATE STREET, KEYSIGHT TECH . The highest package is 54 LPA (google) and avg package was around 4-5 LPA. 80% students get placements. my plan is to pursue m.tech

Placement Experience:

Placement is all about your preparation as opportunities come too much but if you have power then crack that one. Highest was going in 2024 batch is 44 lpa and 66 percent was placed as there are recession going on this time due to covid all market crases.

Joined wisely

Placement Experience:

From 4th sem the campus placement starts so sutdents gets plenty of time to prepare for placements The company being visited to the campus includes Mercedes Benz India, Maruti Suzuki, Microsoft etc Hightest package ranges upto 33 lakhs and average include upto 5lakhs College offers 100% placements except Civil My plans is to get some of the working experience with the company being placed

Yeah replacement system I am not family or with this placement in all because had just recently join not just recently it's been like one and half year but also in placement system I am not focusing on that side because you know what I don't rely on this college I just need degree from this college and just want to be independent and search for job business on my own this collage is just waste of time still I am saying this tho I cannot do anything about this because I am already in second year so if I leave this college now I have no other option to do better option to do so I am I am stock in this college you can say and replacement system everything is just fine not so much good not

Placement Experience:

I do not have much idea about this field. If I'm not wrong internships begin from 2nd to 3rd year itself, and placements from 4th year. The avergae package here is around 6 LPA, and the highest package offered is 56 LPA. That'll be all from side.

Review of NIT Sikkim

Placement Experience:

If you are capable enough you will be getting decent placements, Overall placement statistics lies about 80-90% with an average pacakage of 9-10 lacs per annum including 90-95% for CSE, ECE. EEE and almost 80-85% for core branches like Mechanical and Civil. Some of major past recruiters are CDAC, CDOT, BEL, VEDANTA, DELOITTE, MAHINDRA, MARUTI SUZUKI, UKG, GENPACT, BPCL, L&T, ALSTOM, NVIDIA, MICROSOFT, SLB, TERADATA, CGI and many others. Highest pacakage for the batch of 2023-24 was 44 LPA by NVIDIA and average was around 9.95 LPA. From start of the 7th semesters , the students can register themselves for placements and from 5th semester onwards student can register themselves for internship opputunities. NIT Sikkim also provide opportunities of highes studies like PhD from reputed institutes like IIT Hyderabad, IIT Delhi and some other prominent institutions as well.

SMIT a good option Option for collage If searching something near Northeast India.

Placement Experience:

The overall placement rate was around 90% the highest offered to passout student was INR 35 LPA furthermore The SMIT Average package stood at inr 6 LPA . We have Training and placement cell at sikkim manipal institute of technology to facilitate placement oppurtunities.

From 5 th semester student can apply for internships and after 6th semester they can apply for placements. The average package is 7 lakh per annum and highest is based upon recession and market structure. Last year one senior got 44 lpa package from Nivida.

NIT Sikkim overall review

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible from 7th sem and placement was good before but In this 2024 batch it's the worst placement of all time only 58% students got placement with less package because of recession Im looking for a placement and further plan is to work for a company

I was selected in for Downtown university but for my personal ease i choose to study in SMIT. No i was not being rejecte form any colleges. Due to some of my personal problems i decided to joing SMIT as wishing to study at the college situated over my own state.
