Course Curriculum Overview

4

I would rate the course curriculum in Cybersecurity at Nmamit as highly relevant and quite comprehensive. The program covers network security, cryptography and ethical hacking concepts that make the students job ready. The key aspect that influenced my decision to choose this course was the importance of cybersecurity in the modern world and its applications in the real world. The freqency of exams includes 2 mid-sem exams and a sem end exam each semester with lab assessments. The exams are designed to challenge our understanding of the concepts! and they require both theoretical knowledge and practical application.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internship program at NMAMIT udupi is supported by dedicated placement crew named Abhudhyay which focuses on providing students valuable internship and placement oppurtunities. There are several companies involved such as infosys, tcs etc. Internships often involve engaging projects that allow students to gain practical experience, such as: survey, coding and building machines. These projects not only provide essstential experience but also help students earn activity points which can be beneficial for future placement opportunities.

Placement Experience

4.5

At NMAMIT udupi, the students become eligible for campus placements in the 6th semester. The college has a strong placement record, with numerous companies that visit the campus for recruitment, some of them are HP, Accenture, TCS, Bosch and many more. The number of offers made during placement drives varies each year but many students receive multiple offers! The highest package offered has been around 53 LPA for certain specialized roles. My plans after getting a degree is to sit for the college placements!

Fees and Financial Aid

The year-wise fees I am paying currently is 2,50,000, which is fixed and not increasing. This is the general fee for the cybersecurity branch. Other fees apart from the tuition fee include that of the exam fee per annum which is 10,000. There also exists a Scholarship fee, which is a discounted fee paid by those who scored excellent ranks in the entrance exam, that is around 1,50,000 and an NRI Category fee which is 3,50,000. There are also other state-sponsored scholarships that are availed by the students during the course of the years.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life at NMAMIT, is quite vibrant and engaging and provides students with numerous opportunities for social interaction and personal development. The 2 major events that stand out of the rest are Incridea, which is the college fest, typically in february, and the other one is Techfest which is organized in the fall and has workshops and coding competitions, etc. The library at NMAMIT offers a wide range of books and journals which are related to the curriculum and also provide additional resources for people that are interested in pursuing research projects. The classrooms are well-equipped with modern tech provisions and each classroom has projectors and smart-boards, which enhances the overall learning experience of the students. NMAMIT encourages a very healthy balance between academics and physical activity. The campus features various sports, including cricket, football, basketball and athletics and the college often participates in inter-college tounaments.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility at NMAMIT udupi, offers a comfortable living environment for students. The rooms are shared, providing a communal atmosphere that fosters friendships and collaboration. The rooms have beds, study table and chairs, wardrobes and internet connectivity. The quality of meals in hostel varies quite a bit, some dishes are well-received by students whole others may need improvement. There are 2 mess's, namely south mess and north mess. Both the mess menu's include mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The registration process for hostel accomodation is very straightforward, students need to apply during the admission process and rooms are allocated based on availability in the main or pg hostel. The hostel fees are quite affordable as compared to other private accomodations.

Admission

The admission process in NMAMIT is clear and organised, candidates must have completed their high secondary education with a focus on science subjects for Btech degree. The exam for admission is NUCAT. This exam includes both online and offline formats. Overall the admission process was smooth, with clear guidance from the admission office at NMAMIT. I choose NMAMIT for my cybersecuirty degree due to its strong placement oppurtunities, comprehensive curriculum and excellent infrastructure.

Faculty

5

Nmamit has a very favorable faculty-to-student ratio, esuring that each student receives individual attention. The faculty members are very approachable for doubt clearing! and thus they foster a very supportive environment for the students. Many students are quite comforatble in seeking help from the professors. The course structure at NMAMIT, is very well-designed, balancing theoretical knowledge and practical applications. The students have to undergo 2-MSE's (Mid-Sem exams) and a Semester End exam each semester, alongside to lab exams. Most students manage to clear their exams! Overall the curriculum is relevant, and aligns quite well with the industry standards!

Interview Experience

4

No Group Discussion, but there was a written test, ie NUCAT for the addmission test and it has similar portions to that of other exams such as KCET. Interview may be conducted later during counselling rounds

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Most of the students get placed from the campus placements. Students get eligible for campus placements from the fifth semester. Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

Placement Experience:

I applied to colleges like BMSIT and Sir MVIT, and I had confirmed seats there, too. I chose RNSIT because it has a better reputation for placements in my branch and the campus environment felt more welcoming. I didn't get into RVCE because my KCET rank wasn't high enough for their top branches, as the competition was very tough that year. The admission process is simple. They mainly take students through KCET and COMEDK. You need at least 45% in your 12th boards (PCM). Most students prefer KCET because the fees are lower. Once the seat is allotted through counseling, you just visit the campus, submit your documents, and pay the fees. The whole process was quite smooth and well-organized."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
