Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum for EEE at RNS Institute of Technology is good and well structured. It covers both theoretical and practical subjects, which helps in understanding concepts clearly. The syllabus is based on VTU and includes important core subjects along with labs. The curriculum gives a basic idea for real-world applications and higher studies. Practical sessions and projects help in improving technical skills. Exams are conducted regularly with internal tests and semester exams. The difficulty level is moderate and manageable with proper preparation. However, some subjects can be updated with more industry-oriented content and practical exposure. Overall, the course is good, relevant, and helpful for building a strong foundation in electrical engineering.

Internships Opportunities

5

RNS Institute of Technology provides good internship opportunities for students. Many students get internships through college support as well as by applying externally. Companies offering internships are mostly from IT and some core sectors. Roles include software development, testing, and basic engineering roles. Some internships provide stipends, while others are unpaid but help in gaining experience. Students also work on mini projects and internships during semester breaks, which help in improving practical knowledge and skills. The college encourages students to do internships and provides guidance through faculty. Overall, internship opportunities are good and help students gain industry exposure.

Placement Experience

5

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for EEE at RNS Institute of Technology is reasonable and affordable compared to other colleges. The yearly fees are around ?1 lakh for KCET students, and higher for management quota. There are some additional charges like lab and exam fees. The total course fee is worth it for the facilities provided. Scholarships are available for eligible students through government schemes like SSP and merit-based support. Fees may increase slightly every year but are still manageable. The EEE department has good teaching, supportive faculty, and a well-maintained campus. Placements are also decent with good packages. Overall, everything is good and worth the money.

Campus Life

5

Campus life at RNS Institute of Technology is good and enjoyable. The college conducts annual cultural and technical fests where students can participate and showcase their talents. There are different clubs and student activities which help in improving skills and social interaction. The campus has a good library with useful books and study materials. Classrooms are well maintained and have basic facilities for learning. There are also sports facilities available for students, including indoor and outdoor games. Students can join various clubs and groups which make campus life more active and engaging. Overall, the campus environment is friendly, and students get good opportunities for both academics and extracurricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel facility at RNS Institute of Technology is decent and comfortable. Rooms are provided with basic facilities like beds, study tables, cupboards, and good ventilation. The hostel is well maintained, and there is proper security for students. The food quality in the hostel mess is average but manageable, with a regular menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sometimes the food can be repetitive, but overall it is okay. The hostel fees are reasonable compared to other colleges, and the registration process is simple during admission time. For students staying in PG or rented rooms near the college, there are many options available at affordable prices.

Admission

I chose RNS Institute of Technology because it has a good reputation in Bangalore for engineering, especially for placements and teaching quality. Compared to other colleges I considered, RNSIT offers a good balance of academics, infrastructure, and campus environment. It is also more affordable compared to some private colleges. I had applied to a few other engineering colleges through KCET, but based on my rank and cutoff, I got EEE at RNSIT, which is a good option. The college has better infrastructure and placement opportunities compared to many similar colleges. The admission process was smooth. I got admission through KCET counseling. The eligibility is based on 12th marks and entrance exam rank. Cutoffs depend on the branch and category. Overall, the admission experience was simple and well organized.

Faculty

5

The faculty members in the EEE department at RNS Institute of Technology are good and supportive. Most of the teachers are well qualified and explain concepts clearly. They are approachable and help students with doubts and academics whenever needed. The faculty-to-student ratio is decent, so students get proper attention. The course structure is based on VTU syllabus and is relevant to current industry needs. It includes both theory and practical subjects which help in understanding concepts better. The exam system consists of internal assessments and semester-end exams. Internals include tests, assignments, and lab work. The exams are moderate in difficulty, and students can pass if they study regularly. The marking scheme is fair and based on performance in both internals and externals. Overall, the teaching quality and exam system are good and help students build strong fundamentals.

Interview Experience

4

I did not face any group discussion, interview, or written test for admission to RNS Institute of Technology. The admission process was mainly based on entrance exam rank through KCET. After getting the required cutoff, I selected the college during counseling. The process was simple and straightforward. There were no additional rounds like GD or interviews. Admission was based on academic performance and entrance exam rank. Since there were no such rounds, no special preparation was required apart from preparing for the entrance exam. Overall, the admission process was smooth and easy.

Night Life

4

Nightlife at RNS Institute of Technology is decent but not very active inside the campus. The college has fixed timings, and most facilities like library, gym, and cafeterias close by evening. Hostel students also have entry time restrictions, so late-night activities are limited inside the campus. Outside the campus, there are some cafes, restaurants, and small hangout places where students spend time with friends. The area around the college is generally safe, but students usually avoid staying out very late. Overall, nightlife is average, but students still enjoy spending time with friends after college hours in nearby places.
