Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.

Internships Opportunities

4

Our college mainly focuses on internships and placements, so they train us to these internshop programs like GSOC- Google Summer of Code, JP Morgan, Flipkart, LFX, and multiple other companies' internship programs And also help us beforehand about all the insights about how to crack these internships and also by giving us real-world scenario projects and problems

Fees and Financial Aid

This is for General caste Complete fees 19lakhs excluding scholarship If scholarship is included and if you are lucky it'll reduce to 16L to 15.5L which includes tution fees, admission fees, development fees and other fees but excludes hostel fees Hostel fees is based on sharing, but the average is 140000 Registeration fees is of 10000 The college does provide scholarship opportunities and financial aids like availing loans from the banks

Campus Life

4

1.The names of the annual and technical festivals, along with the months they are typically held We have many festiv fests and tech fests, Festiv fests are held during navaratri, diwali/deepawali, Dusshera and ethnic day in October. PST got it's own latent. 2.The range and accessibility of books and journals available in the library We don't have a physical Library, but we have PST's own app and website where we can access all the important notes available 3.The facilities and technological provisions within the classrooms We have a high-tech classroom with Dolby Atmos speakers and LED-Display in every possible corner, a smart-board, and centralised Aor conditioning as well as ventilation, we have ports in each and every desks and table to charge our necessary gadgets 4.An overview of sports and extracurricular activities offered on campus We have very good sports activities like inter-class competition/house-wise sports as well as tech competitions, we have e-sports competitions also 5.Any student-run social groups, clubs, or student portals, including their impact on student life All the clubs are run by students, we have presidents for each clubs and a disciplinary department which is also run by students which will help the students to build their profiles and learn from the clubs

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel provides triple, double, single sharing rooms Triple sharing depends on the size of the flats, 6 students (2 rooms)in one flat or 9 students(3 rooms) in one flat Double sharing 6 students in one flat(3 rooms) or 4 students in one flat (2 rooms) Furnished beds and wardrobes are provided to each and every student, in the kitchen, oven and fridge and provided, stove(optional) and necessary bathroom accessories are provided. We have a simple and a healthy menu, quality of the food is also good. Registeration for hostle is done through the college itself, the price reduces based on the accomodation, least is 60000 per sem which includes room rent, food, bus charges PG is recommended near college campus locality, but not near hostel locality.

Admission

Which other colleges did you apply to and which colleges you got a confirmed admission from? Why did you choose this college over the others? I have applied to multiple colleges in Bengaluru, and had offers from Nitte Meenakshi Institute of technology, Ramiah University, Sapthagiri college of engineering, RV University and Don Bosco college of engineering, mainly the curriculum and their unique aim to make us the best among the best made me choose this college over other colleges. Did you get a rejection from other colleges you applied to? Why didn't you make it there? What went wrong? I got rejections from RVCE, MSRIT, DSU,BMS due to rank criteria in KCET as well COMEDK What is the admission process of your college? Mention the eligibility, exams accepted for your course and the exam most preferred by students, cutoffs for these exams and the overall admission experience. The admission process is pretty simple, the eligibility criteria is: we have attempt atleast one government competitive exam(JEE,NEET,COMEDK,KCET,MHT-CET, etc..) and board exam Minimum cut-off for us was 50%+ for general and lower for reservations in any of these competitive exams, PST has their own exam, interview, the criteria in this is also 50%+ for general and lower for reservations, in-order to block the seat we have to pay 10000 for PST and 75000 to MSU which will be then reduced included in the overall fees

Faculty

5

We have multiple facilities that come from different and big companies like flipkart, oracle, classplus, etc.. to teach us about tech and guide us to be better engineers, we have mainly 3 teachers, Mr.Gaurav Pandey, Mr.Jaya Prasad, Mr.Gurumandeep Bedi, all three are the best of best, all three are from different IITs and were in big companies, the faculty to student ratio is less which is a problem, so they have provided us with SSM's(Student Success Manager) who help us whenever in need and help us solve our doubts, we have evaluations every week, meaning we have tests every week which help us to keep focused on our studies and assess ourselves, we have mock interviews every alternate weeks which help us in the future for internships and placements, till now in the 2024 batch no student has failed a single test and exam, Polaris school of technology(PST) is affiliated with MSU(Medhavi Skills University) based in Sikkim, the term exams are conducted by them, due to the best teachings from our mentors the exams were a piece of cake to us, the passing rate is 100% and the average result is 80+, we have two main exams per sem, and these exams are easy, we have the best curriculum which is very relevant to today's market and tech field

Night Life

3

There is no night-life in PST as well as in the hostel, due to strict rules and regulations, every student should return to their rooms by 10:00pm, gym, cafeteria are pretty much okay and accessible to everyone

the placements oppurtunity are there and you can grab a very good paackage from here. The highest is around 44 , average is 7 lpa. Students become eligible for final placemnts from 6-7 semester. Companies like thermo fisches , fractal , belc , hitachi and many other, have visited. The percentage of placemnt is quite high but people grabbing more than 30lpa is very few. after degree i want to go for job directly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Honestly I don't a thing about the relevance of the curriculum, this curriculum thingy has been changing every now and then in our college I hope atleast they stick to one curriculum and make us study that and don not change it further. As I've mentioned before, I was not informed in prior about the syllabus so obviously there's no specifi aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course. I think the curriculum will prepare me to face the world way more wisely and strategically than how I'd deal with it otherwise. I think one area they can improve is in physics, they can give us more seminars, projects and stuff to check our understanding. That would really help a lot of people to be creative and help people to get the exposure. Coming to the difficulty level of the paper, I know nothing because I haven't written the sem exam yet so, I know nothing. But, can guarantee one thing!! Be careful, cause as per sources our college is known for it's tough question paper, so y'all better study.
