Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose Bcom (hons) because I wanted to get into finance but I didn't want to do CA. Our curriculum needs to be updated but still it has relevance to the real world problems. Practical education needs to get more weightage than merely just lectures bcs back to back lectures get boring and tedious and students are not able to grasp as much.

Placement Experience

3

I am currently in third year so the placement drive has begun at our campus. Campus placements of our college are not that great but decent enough. Other colleges like SRCC, LSR, Venky have much better placements than our college. The highest package that our college received this year was of 14 lakh CTC of BCG.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

I am in Jesus and Mary College, DU. According to DU fees standards, yearly fees of my course and college is relatively high. Average fees of Bcom (Hons) in other DU colleges is ?7000-?15,000. While my yearly fees for 1st year of college was ?20,325 and in 2nd year it increased to ?21,825. It increases by this margin every year.

Campus Life

4.5

I love hanging out at our college campus, it's beautiful. Montage is our annual fest and it happened last year for the first time since covid. The library is so big with a huge variety of books. Our college has a number of active college societies and I myself have been a part of Enactus, Mercatus, NSS and debsoc. Sports teams of our college are also quite good.

Admission

I got into JMC through CUET 2022. My first preference was SRCC but I couldn't clear the cut off. But I am pretty glad I ended up in JMC because I love going to college. The infrastructure is amazing, campus is beautiful with a lot of biodiversity, it's an all girls campus so it makes it safer and peaceful. I didn't like any other college of DU as much as I liked JMC. Amazing faculty, amazing students and amazing campus.

Faculty

4

I'm not sure about other courses but JMC has a really great faculty for commerce. The professors are very knowledgeable and cooperative. The faculty to student ratio for department of commerce is most likely to be 20-100. I really liked Monica Chabbra ma'am who teached us financial management bcs of her patience and the way she talks to her students. We have exams every semester. If a student is regular to college and studies with consistency, the exams would be of a moderate level to them. The course curriculum is decently structured and relevant.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum was to the point. Everything was explained nicely in books provided to us and faculty, teachers were very good. They were passionate about their job . I personally had no problems with timings or frequency of exams. I can't comment on areas of improvement either.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have interest in the course so i chosed this course. The curriculum preparation for the real world application is ok . I don't think so there is need for improvement in anything related to curriculum. The timing for my exams is in the morning 10 am . The timing is different for every exam .

The placements are rising each year in Big 4s and Big 6 as well. The placement cell brings in creative and innovative ideas for internships too. Most students were placed in Deloitte and EY in the current year beginning.

Most of the DU colleges don't have a great placement opportunity but the DU tag itself helps one to get good placement.most of thd placement happens in north campus colleges. 20-30% of students gets placed.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is good overall as it provides us with many opportunities. Many companies have visited in the past, and many students have been placed in higher companies. This year, one student got a 48 lac pa placement offer, which was one of the highest in the whole of Du University. The highest was 48lac, and the average are 7 to 10 lac. My plans after completing this degree are to start my own business or pursue higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I studied commerce I wanted to pursue either bcom hons or bcom program. I would say it's 6/10 in terms of real world applications of the curriculum. More practical knowledge should be given. I would say exam were hard but timing was okay.

Some teachers are very professional and friendly as well. But some teachers are not good at teachings. An overall crowd of the college is very good. There are so many feet in the college from time to time which make you feel delighted.
