Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

In course subject they often give you assignment which you have to doo in groups some times individually. You will learn about software like solid works, ansys, arena if you are from mechanical engineering department. most of the teachers teaches you from ppt but some teaches you via board .

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Majority of the students just find the internship themselves because if you mail any company that I am student from nit , they will give you internship without asking any questions. But if you want to get paid internships you have to work little harder and have good skills. Only skills can get you paid internship. In case you are not able to find any internship the training and placement cell will find internship for you . You can also ask your teachers they also help in finding internship. In my case I just added few people on linked from tata motors then asked them to recommend to hr for internship in this way I find my internship. One thing is that you have to do one internship in third year which is mandatory in this college. So you are in third year so it is little hard to find paid internships .

Placement Experience

4

In 7th semester companies start to visit the campus for each branch . Cse and it get maximum placements. Large number of companies visit the campus like Oracle ,tredence , ashok Leyland, Infosys, seimens , Hyundai ,vedanta , Hitachi energy, maruti , Honda , sigmoid ,sixT R&D, cyfuture , Larsen and toubro, aganitha cognitive solution and soo on. If your from non core branch your placement is 100 percent guaranteed, in core branches like electrical mechanical 70-90 percent student get placed . It may also due to the reason some students of core branch opt to for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year-wise fees is on income basis . I am sharing information about btech course. If your income is below one lakh per year so per semester fee is 10500, if income is above one lakh but below 5 lakh then you have pay 32000 then comes above 5 lakh category you have to pay 73000 per semister. One time admission fee is 6500 and caution money is 12000. I am paying 10500 per semester. Scholarship are given you have to apply from nsp portal but from past few year nsp scholarship for minority is suspended. If you belong to sc/ St category various scholarships are given on merit basis

Campus Life

4

There are two annual function range chinar and techvaganza. Both fests are very good . Time to time some events are organised which mai include dancing singing by the various clubs present in the college. As per the studies, Library is also vary good you can access the internet very easily using campus wifi . But there are no working computer in library you will need to go to cse lab if you don't have laptop. Sports events are also organised every year . Participation of girls is highly appreciated. NCC for girls is also available. If you are a girl then NCC can be a good opportunity for you , they give you training, take you to lot of camps within the state ,outside the state . But there is a selection process to join in NCC .

Admission

I have also applied for computer engineering in Kashmir University. But I choose nit Srinagar as this is national level University. Exams are held at times . Admission process is pretty straight forward. You should have above 75 percent in your 12th class . Then you have to appear in jee mains exam . Percentile above 94 percentile will guarantee your seat if you are general and come from home state qouta .if you are are a girl there is reservation for you so can even get a seat on 85 percentile. If you come from other state qouta just add 2 to 3 percentile to above percentile. Most preferred courses are cse ,it , electrical, electronic and communication and mechanical as the placement for these branches are quite high

Faculty

5

Faculty is good . Faculty ratio is not soo good. You will see sometimes PhD student will come to teach you few subjects. Exams are not that tough . If you study class notes majority allmost 80 percent comes from that only . Rest of the portion they just ask you some general based like numerical which also uses some knowledge about previous courses . All faculty are good , one or two are strict on attendance you can ask your senior about the nature of upcoming semester teacher which will help you very much
