Remarks

Starting with the positives I would say our college is really concerned about the cleanliness and greenery. The faculty of the college is good and experienced. Talking about the negatives, the campus area is not large enough and the annual cultural fest is not done on a large scale compared to other colleges of the University.

Entrance Exam, Merit List

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I feel the course curriculum is good but can include more interesting and recent topics. The course is not updated every year and I feel that the books and readings issued by the university are not great and a bit difficult to understand.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, our college provides internships. An internship fair, only for the students of our college is organized. Few big companies come to select interns. I have personally been a part of IDBI campus internship. Although there wasn't any fixed stipend there was performance based stipend.

Placement Experience

3

There are of ofcourse a placement cell and job opportunities but not to the extent experienced by campus colleges. The packages offered are not that great but yes as a student seeking a job, you have a few options.

College Events

4

A lot of events are celebrated throughout the year. There are guest lectures of each department separately, festivals are celebrated. Then the main event is the annual cultural fest: Vibrations for 2 days and also fests for each department are organized separately.

Campus Life

3

The extracurriculars are active. There are societies for dance, music, theatre, fine arts and photography which are very active in the DU circuit. There are well-equipped labs for science students. And there is also a sports complex.

Hostel Facilities

3

The infrastructure is not that great I would say but yes they are improving as a few new academic blocks are under construction. This project will surely improve infrastructure. There is no hostel facility provided by the college.

Alumni/Alumna

The college has in past organized Alumni meets for every department separately. The current students get to meet the seniors and learn a lot from their experiences. It is a nice experience altogether.

Exam Structure

Every subject is tested with a 100 mark exam. 20 out of which are for internal examination, 75 for the main written examination and 5 for the class attendance of that particular subject. The overall exam structure is sorted.

Admission

I got admission on the basis of the cut-off list. I scored 95% in class 12th CBSE board exams. And could match the in the second cutoff list which was 96% because there is a provision of 1% relaxation for girls. I had to fill the application form before the cutoffs were announced. And then went to college with the form and my documents to take admission. Once that was done, I paid the fees on the online portal.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of our college is appreciable. Some of the teachers in our Economics department are really good. But there are few teachers as well who don't really do justice, neither to their profession nor to students.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting
