Course Curriculum Overview
The course is quite outdated according to automobile. But elective subjects are great which gives applications to real world problems. The course is quite good as it covers every domain not only mechanical. But also electrical computer as automobiles use them.
Internships Opportunities
We have forge, the incubation center where lots of students work in their 5th sem as to build any project. We have KCIRI for internships. There is no confirmed stipend with internship. It depends on faculty and their engagement with the companies. We can work under them
Placement Experience
Placements are fine in my department. If no campus comes, then people tend to go for higher studies in foreign. More than 60 percent are getting placed. In 6th semester students start their placement training and then get eligible.
Fees and Financial Aid
The first years fees is 90000 The second,third ,fourth year are 75000 In that 55000 is tuition fee, 15000 is development and 5000 is placement and training fee. This fee is same for the government quota students in my college. The management students have to pay double the fees. The hostel fee is 100000. The scholarships are for first graduate students and government school students. Reduces fees upto 40000.
Campus Life
We have yugam as our biggest techno cultural literature fest of south india. We have large range of books in our library. We have more than 40 clubs of social, literature, sports, technical etc. we have garage where there are multiple teams which build vehicle and go for competitions.
Admission
This college is one of the known colleges of Tamil Nadu with good infrastructure and education system. We had councelling of government quota. I applied to psg, sri krishna, ramakrishna. But due to availability I got here.
Faculty
The faculties are very friendly and helpful. They guide us and help us in every way to get jobs. They take extra courses needed for students. The course is of 5-6 months each semester. There is 2 internal exams and one end semester exam. Weightage is 40:60 ratio.
