- The campus is situated just beside the banks of Ganges so it's always breezy .

- The campus is huge but the authorities have not used that space adequately.

Course Curriculum Overview
In first year we are taught every basic fundamentals that is relevant to every branch of engeneering. Like I am a mechanical engineering student but our curriculum teaches us C programing which I think is quite good . I was said that the difficulty level of every exams conducted lie between moderate to hard .
Internships Opportunities
Internships are easily available in our college. Speaking of my department i.e. mechanical engeneering there is 100% internship for every students . Students also have chance to get PPO( pre placement offer) if they did good job during their internship
Placement Experience
Our college provides good placements ! Last year the highest on campus placement package was about 32lpa and off campus placement was 1.2cr per year . And since it has a huge alumni network so it gets easier for freshers to find a job .
Fees and Financial Aid
The total academic fee is 5 lakh i.e of 4 years. The hostel and mess fee of 4years is around 2.4 lakh it varies upon the budget allotted to the specific hostel . If the expense exceeds the allotted budget then each hostel member has to contribute extra amount at the end of the semester . One has to pay extra rs 3000 for cautious fee if opts for hostel . There is 100% tution waiver for sc/st candidates and obc candidates whose family yearly income is less than 1lakh . For OBC NCL candidates whose family income is between 1-5 lakh they are given 2/3 tution waiver! Note - the tution waiver is only applicable on tution fee ! The hostel and mess fee has to be paid by everyone ! There are various types of schoolarship that are given to the students like the state given schoolarship swami vivekananda merit cum means scholarship then we have HDFC schoolarship , pragati scholarship scheme for girl students
Campus Life
The annual fest here is called Rebecca . The college library is not huge but still has alot number of books which are easily accessible. The classrooms have projectors and white screen but should have ac too ! There are total two sports grounds the bigger one is named Oval . Students have access to each and every sports facilities provided here . There are official WhatsApp groups run by our seniors ,who helps us ( juniors) when we are in any kind of trouble or have any query
Admission
My first preference was Jadavpur University but my rank was not sufficient enough to get me into that college. So I choose IIEST SHIBPUR because it has decent placement history and was not so far from my house . I can easily travel to my house once a week .
Faculty
The student to faculty ratio is quite bad , it is 94:1( for each subjects) . The teachers are helpful and encourages us to ask questions. We have Averi Mukhopadhyay who is our teacher of professional communication in English and I like the way she teaches . The one teacher who I don't like is Prof.Niloy Khutia , he is our mechanics teacher . The reason I don't like his lectures because I don't understand the way he teaches !

Because the engeneering department of University of Calcutta is relatively new. Where as IIEST SHIBPUR has a huge legacy of producing great engineers
