Course Curriculum Overview

5

My course which is BSC in Mathematics teaches the students about the concepts of real analysis and mathematical modeling which made me decide to choose this course the curriculum prepares us for real-time application by giving internships in companies and further academic pursuits by providing the students with research in a specific field. The teaching methods and curriculum in the course is fine but need improvement like a better faculty-to-student ratio, etc. The frequency of exams in each semester is generally 3 months with medium level of difficulty.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year-wise fees I paid for my college is 85000 with the tuition, caution, registration, admission, development, lab fees, and other compulsory charges being included. The fees for my batchmates are 65000 for those who are Karnataka students 125000 for those who are NRIs and 85000 for non-Karnataka students. Merit cum Need scholarship is provided only to those students whose gpa, marks, and attendance are perfect and annual salary of the family is not more than 5LPA.

Campus Life

4.5

Ethnic day, convergence, and Datamaze are some of the annual and technical festivals which are conducted during Jaunuary,June and December respectively. There are around 20000 books and journals available in the library. Students can also borrow books from the library for 21 days. each classroom is equipped with a projector that facilitates smart learning through ppts or slides. Each classroom has multiple plugpoints which help students to work on laptops and creating their assignments. Basketball, football, and cricket are some of the sports offered within the campus. Students are selected for the university team and compete with other university teams. Centre for Social Action, SWO and CAPS are some of the student-run social groups helping the students to cope up with problems that they directly can't express to the university administration.

Admission

I did not apply to any other college as Christ University was my first preference. No, I did not apply to any other college so I did not get rejection from any other colleges. So for my course students are required to get a minimum mark of 80 % in classes 10 and 12 and after that selection is done based on Merit basis through CUET (Christ University Entrance Test) and personal interview. Students are required to answer 100 MCQS in 90 min and on clearing the test they have to give a personal interview and on the success of both, the students are selected.

Faculty

4

The faculty-to-student ratio is 1: 50. Faculty-to-student relationships can be called good and approachable. Still, not all of them can be called great as some of them don't teach in class give assignments in Google Classroom or make us sit in the college library instead of coming and taking class. Sudev NK, Veeresha P, John Kasper are some of the faculty members I liked because they are approachable, cooperative with students regarding their doubts. Sudev NK is the best faculty. Ajay Venkatesh is a faculty i did not like as he was too lazy to take class of mathematical modeling and often used to send us to the library and give some asynchronous topics which he did not taught to submit. in each semester there are 2 exams mid sems and end sems the exams are not difficult if classes are being attended regularly and giving enough time for study. From my class, hardly 6 students fail to clear the exam. The course curriculum is very specific and updates too .

Placement Experience:

At St Aloysius University, students typically become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onward. Reputed companies like Infosys, wipro, TCS etc have visited the campus offering multiple roles in IT services, research and analytics. The highest package has been around 7-8 LPA while the average has been around 3-4 LPA depending on the company and the profile of the student. Around 60-70% of eligible students secure placement each year

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate it around 8/10 for relevance and comprehensiveness. I chose this course because it offered solid foundational subjects that aligned with my interests. The curriculum prepares students well for higher studies and provides decent exposure to lab techniques. However, for real world readiness, it could be improved. Teaching methods are mostly theory-heavy and would benefit from interactive approaches. Exams are moderately difficult and conceptual clarity and regular revision helps in scoring well.

We will be ready for placements from the 5th semester as we will be given training on interview skills in the 5th semester. There are many companies that visit colleges like PN Rao, Reliance, Tailorman, etc. There are good different profiles offered like merchandising, designing, retail with different packages offered from different companies. There is 100% placements assured from college also we get more options for interviews and companies. I got placed from college in Tommy Hilfiger after my degree.

• Only the last semester students are eligible for campus placements if any approach us. • No companies visit our campus of Interiors till I've seen. • You get a list of companies with openings from the college and you can apply on the same. • As mentioned when the college holds a program for the final years companies might choose you there based on your work.

Positive remarks: • The senior, junior, classmates are very helpful and cooperative. • The professors are also very helpful and concerned about our studies. Negative remarks: The authority is not so helpful. They take many steps against the students' sake and this is the main cause for decreasing the college's overall performance.
