Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is based to nurture us into future engineers and I have found it extremely important for mechanical engineers especially. Our curriculum provides us real world scenarios of machines, tools and others that an engineer might use in future. Conducting the series exams between the semsters have found to be very helping for our final exams.

Placement Experience

3.5

One other attracting feature of our college is that they provide huge placement opportunities. Many companies like TATA, MRF, SHOBHA,L&T,etc are regular to our college. Highest placement offered to my knowledge is SHOBHA around 12LPA. I also hope to get placed after my degree completion. If not higher studies is my plan B

Fees and Financial Aid

Per semester we have an expense about 10000 including all the tuition fees, exam and semester registrations. A caution deposit of 17000 was paid for enrolling into the hostel which will be returned at the end of degree completion. Concession for other category students are provided at college under e-grantz.

Campus Life

4.5

Other than academics, our college has various clubs like NSS, Sports, SAE, IEDC,IEEE,IEI and so on... I am a member of NSS which gives me opportunity to interact socially with people and grow myself. We have a literacy club at our college supported by our own library with a wide variety of books and other sources. Events like sports day and techno-cultural fests are taking place at our college every year.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are not bad when compared to other goverment college hostels. We have a room of five including two fans, beds, pillows, tables, chairs, etc.. Our hostel food is managed by an outside catering crew. The food is not bad but not as good as homely good. Registration processes were easy and simple. Hostel Life helps to interact with more people and socially build you for a college life.

Admission

I chose this college for my engineering degree because I found out that it has one of the best mechanical engineering department in Kerala. I also got admission in MA college but when I compared the departments I found TKM more appealing. I enrolled in this college based on my KEAM Entrance marks so did other students except management students.

Faculty

3.5

One of the best faculty members for the Mechanical department in Kerala. They have good and vast knowledge on their field of study and are friendly with students. Per semester we have two series exams out of 50 marks and an internal lab exam. At the end we have our final semester exam.

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
