What Students Say?
Likes
- The best thing about Hansraj College is interaction and exposure we'll get here, like after joining different socities you'll be exposed to people, you'll interact with students coming from different roots of india and students from different streams
- Another Good thing here is library of Hansraj College, which is well equipped with AC, wifi, clean Washrooms and comfortable chairs. Availability of books is also good
Dislikes
- First thing I didn't like was the campus, it's quite small and classes are small too, desks are very old, I remember once the fan was that old that it fell downs on a students in the class, luckily he wasn't hurt much
- Second is the labs, they are too quite old and needs to share equiments among the other labs
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for Bio in my 11th that's why I was already bent towards biology, botany zoology are the main branches of it so I opted for one of them curriculum is relevant and helps you to solve the real world applications, practicals helps you to enhance your learning outcomes course curriculum can be better if the subjects like AEC and VAC are removed as they doesn't help much
Fees and Financial Aid
So I was admitted to Hansraj College in the Year 2022, the fee for the 1st year was 24k Other than this we need to pay each sem examination fee which varies from course to course for courses including practical subjects, additional 250 rupees are taken as a fee, hence, if you opt for more around 4 practical subjects it includes 1000 practical fees and 150 for theory exam for each subject, which is 150x7 i.e. 1050 So, you'll pay a total 2050 as examination fees each sem, which may vary for BA and BCom students Also, for students under reserved category like SC, ST or OBC-NCL will get different scholarships under which 50% tuition fee is waived off if the annual income of the family is less then 5lac and 100% waiver if the annual income is less than 2lac
Campus Life
Annual fest was good Different Festivals are also celebrated here, there is somethings going on here throughout the year technologically, Hansraj is well equipped other than desks and fans of the classes Annual event named Khelo hansraj is organised by Sports society which is a major highlight And I'll suggest students coming here to join at least 2 society, more as much as you can
Admission
During filling my CSAS portal portal hansraj was my 3rd priority 1st was hindu college with botany 2nd was again hindu with zoology Hindu has better campus and even ranked above hansraj but because of few less marks in my CUET exam I wasn't able to make through
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is 1:50, it gets higher in case of subjects like AEC, SEC and VAC I am from Botany Department and the best teacher I've met here is Prof. Pooja Maity, Prof. Arti Mishra and Prof. Vijay Rani, they all are so polite and good professors Others are also good but these are my favourite I didn't like the faculty of SEC and VAC as they are the teachers who teach some others subject but they are alloted these subject because of few matches, eg. Prof teaching us Digital Empowernment wasn't even aware of how to scroll in the laptop When it comes to exam pattern, for first two years its same (I'm talking about science subjects only of hons) There are total 7 subjects each sem 3 DSC, which is core subjects SEC, Skill enhancement VAC, Value addition course GE, Generic elective AEC, Language subject Exams for easy to moderate, you can easily pass the exams with the help of pyqs
