- Academics is very good, if your aim for good teaching its the choice
- Professors are very good most of them are phd scholars
- You will get excellent lab facilities , labs are equipped with everything you need
Dislikes
- There is not much opportunity for sports, sports ground is very far from campus.
- Not much active clubs, they are still growing
- Very difficult curriculum, they will do very strict checking
Course Curriculum Overview
This institute has one of the best academic curriculum. It will be hectic but you will learn many things. We have a lot of labs and you can be ready for the real world by working in labs. You have to be focused to get good grades although.
Internships Opportunities
A lot of opportunities are available here for internships. You can go to EPFL, Colorado, and many other foreign institutes. You can get a direct internship in ISRO. And some students even get internships in different companies like Accenture.
Placement Experience
ISRO directly recruite from here and most of students go there only. Rest of students get placed in different companies like Agnikul, Skyroot etc. Avg package is about 10 LPA. ISRO package is about 13LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
It is a government college so you can get the benefits of the reservation. If you are SC/ST you will study here for free. Scholarships are also provided based on parents' income. One more scholarship is there if you score more than 9 CGPA you will get 50% off on tution fees.
Campus Life
There is much campus life here. You just have to study and study all day. A very tough competition is always going on here. You will not get enough opportunities to play sports or dance or sing. Even if you want to arrange some event you have to go through a lot of formalities. The libraries are good.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are nice and spacious. You will get some furnitures in hostels. And cleaning happens every day. Electricity is 24*7 and water is also available for 24*7. You will get cold hot and normal water for drinking. Overall hostels are good here.
Admission
The admission process is through JEE Advanced. You have to get about 18k rank in JEE Advanced to get this college and you should have more than 75 percent in boards. You have to apply for it separately from other colleges through its website.
Faculty
There are sufficient faculty at IIST and most of them have a Phd degree, they are all very learned professors and will help you in every aspect. Some faculty use blackboard some use slides and some teach using both. Student to faculty ratio is very good in IIST.
