VJTI college experience

I would suggest you, if you are interested to do higher education (MTech or BTech), then our college is ideal in state level.

I took GATE exam to enroll in VJTI. which is important for higher education and PSUs after engineering. my score is 475/1000(10000 Rank) which is average. In this examination rank will matter more than GATE score. To get admission in IITs or top NITs your rank should be under 3000 for open. To get admission in state government college it is better to rank below 12k for open. I had enrolled in VJTI because it is one of oldest well known (1887) autonomous institute. which has best placements for IT sector and average placements for core.

Course has a detailed syllabus of VLSI and Embedded but no specialisation. Some subjects were literally boaring Computational methods, Research Methodology etc.

Stipend offered by AICTE for GATE qualified students. that scholarship is 8000 p.m. Though the scholarship was increased but not crediting in account. Stipend will definitely come but their is large delay in that. Our college supports to do internship program from BARC, SAMEER, TECHVISION etc.

There are plenty of opportunities for IT companies. But if anybody wants to do job in core companies or telecom companies then this is not right college (as per my experience). In most of companies our TPO doesn't allow MTech candidates. Some of top companies are CISCO, morgan stanley, Deloyed, credit suise, IBM etc.

Fees of our college is very less. as it is government college. For self financed cource fees is aroung 85k but as the college is aided by government for catogory students their is concession in the fees.

Good campus life. very helpful culture and best environment. Huge stack in library college has a ground and situated at the heart(Dadar) of mumbai. Very easy to reach college by train or Best bus.

Mess food is OK. but their is no hostel facility for MTech students in VJTI.Their is nonveg food also in our college. (CHICKEN biryani) weekly once. And each day there is special food, but you feel bored after 2 months. cost is also not that much cheaper

Our seniors were placed in top companies, now most of them are managers or at top posts. NCP leader Chagan Bhujbal and many more politician and social workers, businessmans etc. are from our college.

Exams were conducted on the syllabus completed by the faculties by him and papers also checked by him. so be polite with him. Our total grades are in his hands. He can also fail us and make a topper. This happens most of the times.

Permanent faculty fro our college are the best but faculties on contract basis are not that much talented. But some faculties will guide on your project.
