Course Curriculum Overview

5

I had an keen interest to get into IT industry and make a career out of it. As I am very up to date in technology terms. So I thought Bachelors of Science in Information Technology is the best course from an commerce background. The syllabus is structured according to the new NEP POLICY,2020 which have implemented from this academic year 2024-2025. A single semester contains 2 major subjects and 6 minor subjects. Exams will not be so tough if you go with complete preparation. You cannot just open a book one night before the exam and study out complete syllabus. You have to go with the flow and time when the teachings are done. Because it will help you to be ready in advance for the exams. Major subjects exams will be conducted of 60 marks each and minor subjects exams will be conducted of 30 marks each.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internships are allowed to the students from Second Year of their College. They will not provide you with the same but it has to be earned by you by doing excellent in your academics and other skills too. By which professors will get to know about your capability and provides you with internship opportunity.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible for the placements opportunities after completing their sixth semester. Companies like PWC and more visit our college for recruiting. As i am an fresher now I have not much knowledge about the packages and companies which are visiting and make offers. My plans after getting my degree is to move abroad for pursuing my post-graduation. All the placements related tasks are conducted by the 'Placement Cell' of our college, who looks after al of this.

Fees and Financial Aid

If we talk about the per year fees including all the charges such as tution fees, examination fees, laboratory fees, Gymkhana fees, Identify Card Fees, etc. it all rounds off as 60,500. Where you will get back your laboratory, indentity card fees. Until last year the complete fees for the course was 25,000. This year it has increased by 2.5x, as the college have received autonomy this year and is no longer affiliated with Mumbai University. So from thia year the college is allowed to structure their syllabus as per their choice. There are no such scholarships has announced till today, however it might be announced later on.

Campus Life

4.5

There are numerous clubs and committees in the college which works for various tasks and events. Such includes NSS Committee, DLLE Club, SOU Club, SPORTS Committee, IT Club, EIC Cell, CULTURAL Committee. The most recent event is the 'FOODPRENEUR' conducted by the EIC Cell. If we talk about the books, magazines and journals, there are in total 6473 books present in the library and which all are accessible to you. You also take any of them for a week on your Library Card. There are also various sporting activities at Mumbai University level, where participants from all the colleges compete with each other. Trials have been taken for each of them. Committees and Clubs like NSS,SOU,DLLE are groups which conducts social services such a beach cleaning, blood donation, teaching underprivileged and many more.

Admission

To get eligible for this course you need to compulsorily have MATHS as a subject in your Second Year Junior College. Without MATHS subject you won't be getting admission for this course at any of the college even if you have scored good percentage in your Board Exams. You will get your admission on the basis of Marks score in MATHS subject and not your overall percentage, no matter how well you have scored overall. Admission process is not a tough task. You have to fill the Mumbai University form at first and select your course and college preferences. Later on you have to fill out the college 's private form on the SVKM website. This is mandatory. Yoh have to select your course and college preferences between USHA PRAVIN GANDHI AND NARSEE MONJEE. You will get admission on the basis of your preferences. If you have selected both of them as your preferences then it will charge you ?200+platform fees. If you have selected only one of them then you have to pay?100+platform fees.

Faculty

5

There are in total 8-10 fixed faculties and other are visiting faculties. All of the faculties are well-experienced. They have a huge amount of years of experience in this field. For example: 20,18,25, years. Their experience helps us to get life changing advices and teaching from such professors improves your academics. They will solve any of your doubts anytime during your college period. Most of them makes us study from PPT's made by them with various references and examples to make us understand in a better way. They also show various video examples which helps us in getting to know it much better. There are sixty-five students in a single class. However attention is the only thing which teaches want from us. They are always on time, I have never seen any of them being late.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

While searching on internet I got to know about this course that's where I earned interest for this course that made choose this course. The practical knowledge shared by the faculty at their best helps for real life applications but still practical knowledge is gained beyond college course pattern which can be gain in internships. By providing more practical knowledge beyond the theory part of the course may help students greatly by learning real life experiences. Exams are usually held by morning at the college timing (9:30 am).

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because of the teachers who teach that. I had my siblings telling me that they love the way their teachers taught them. They make it so easy to understand and give you so much advice to grow and have great success. Also, this college is just a treasure of other curriculum activities. Once you got to know that they held those kinda functions over these years you can't resist and will participate in those functions. As it the course was difficult but teachers will make it easy they will guide you in any problem that you have and encourage you to learn more skills so you can be more successful.
