Remarks

Overall the college is one of the best known college for the media course and film making.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The Course Curriculum is as per the Mumbai University's Syllabus although the college provides us with many guest sessions with industry professionals so that we also experience the outside world rather than academics. The projects given to us are also very relevant to the subject like we make ads, short films, write blogs, etc. On campus internship opportunities are available through coordinator and placement cell. Industrial visits are also organized. Overall it's a fair deal.

Placement Experience

4

Yes, companies do visit our college and also provide various internships and job placements. But this section of the college is not that functional.

College Events

5

Yes there are multiple fests and events organised. Litfest (Literature Festival),Techvanza(IT Festival), Valor (Sports fest) are the main fests of the college. Otherwise there are committees which organize various events - E cell, Eloquence, RC, NSS, etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's very feasible being a self financed course under Mumbai University. No additional fees or charge is added in order to secure admission as the process is very transparent from the university and college.Yes and it also provides transparency in the fee breakdown in the fee receipt.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I havent opted for any scholarship or education loan for the college. I have no information regarding that which may be helpful.

Campus Life

5

The Campus life is very happening and social engaging as there are multiple events that take place and at the end you form a close bond with everybody. There is a cultural society, music club, dance club, drama team, e cell, eloquence committee, NSS, Rotary, Buddy project, etc. Which help the students to be socially active in the college. Multiple workshops and courses are organised for students by industry professionals. There is student diversity and everybody respects and regards each one of them irrespective of anything.

Hostel Facilities

4

No, I haven't opted for hostels as I am a student residing in the same city. All types of PGs, hostels, etc. Facilities are readily available and accessible in the Vile Parle Area close to the college with all facilities. Hostels that suit every pocket are available and you have many options.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, they are helpful as they share their experiences about the ins and outs of the college like they enjoyed the projects and what is the use and value of the same. They also share insights about the college and its activities.

Admission

I was a student at Mithibai College for my Junior College and was inclined towards the mass media course of UPG as they have very experienced faculty from the industry as well. I also took few references from the alumni students. I opted for this course because of the growing media online and I wanted to get into digital marketing.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty us very experienced in their respective field of teaching and adapts to every unique method of learning and keeping us updated with the industrial experience. Many certificate courses are organized by the college which are conducted by reputed industry professionals and institutions in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course. It helped me in my personality building and also I learned new things like- Video and photo editing, handling cameras, communication skills, Acting, Advertisement writing and shooting, and many more. Class strength is good as they allow 25-30 students for one course. Faculties were too supportive and masters of their own fields. They take 2 internals and 1 final exam at the end of the semester which is of 6 months.

I chose this course because I want to be in the film industry. I want to become an actor. This course helps us to get aware of all the media industries. Be it films or television or even radio. Now, there are even more fields such as Public Relations and Event Management. There is an almost equal number of girls and boys. The faculty have industry experience and are well-spoken. Form third year students become eligible for campus placement. Many reputed companies like times of India hindustan times visited our college and got various students selected based on their caliber. The average package here is a around 5-10 Lakh per annum. Only those students who are talented enough for any post get selected for particular job. I'm planning to do a internship in popular media House.
