Remarks

The college washrooms needs to be improved otherwise all the things are satisfactory. The PG departments should be little more in focus.

Entrance Preview

I'm currently pursuing Masters in economics and I wanted to get into Data Analytics and in my course they teach us all the new Softwares that are there in this sector like R, SQL, Hadoob, Spss, Excel, Python. We are getting all the experiences with the real world data so that we are ready for the corporates. So I think I got the best option in College.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is good specially when it comes to teaching us all the recent softwares that's required. Apart from this we learn econometrics and its interpretations. I am happy with the course as they prepare us for the corporate world and make us equipped in all possible ways.

Internships Opportunities

Yes. I'm currently interning with Centre for Budget and Policy Studies as a part time intern. I got this internship from the economics department of Mount Carmel College. I'm very happy with my work and currently earning Rs 7000 per month.

Placement Experience

4

We have lots of companies that comes for various field requirements. So we get lots of exposure. The placements is average as the package expected is not very high so there is a lack in that section. But we have lots of big companies that comes for hiring so brand wise we are happy.

College Events

4.5

We have lots of Fests that is celebrated. The biggest event is Cul-ah which is a 2 day long fest. We even have PG feats separately. There are a lot of international conferences that is conducted by different departments where we can present research papers and a lot of renouned people visit these conferences which constantly makes us learn a lot more about the world.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is medium according to our course as we are taught a lot of softwares which costs around 15000 each when we learn them elsewhere. We are provided with lots of electronic devices like labs and projector with helps us to learn quickly. So according to me it's not very expensive and not very cheap.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I have no idea of any such loans or scholarships provided by our college. I have never availed any of these.

Campus Life

3

We have a girls college. So there is no question of gender diversity. The college life is good we have the right to put our thoughts across. The labs are provided but still lacked in software installations in the beginning. There are lots of competition both inter and intra colleges that happens so there is good exposure in all fields.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I currently do not stay in college hostel as the footfall in college is of around 7500 students and its not possible for the college to have hostel arrangements for everyone. So I cannot comment on this question as I'm not very experienced with this

Alumni/Alumna

We have a few alumnae who visit us to share their experiences. And they are helpful in guiding us for our future.

Exam Structure

We have a mid semester exam that is of 50 marks which is converted to 20. There is 10 marks kept for presentations in each subject. We have end semester exams which is of 70 marks. We have practical exams which is conducted in presence of external faculty.

Admission

I sent my resume and filled the admission form and I was called for a written test and interview round. I gave the entrance test and when my paper got corrected I scored good marks. After that I had one personal interview in which the faculty tested my knowledge about the subject and also had keen observations about my future goals.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is really good. We have external teachers for our software classes. The faculty is from corporate sector so they have all the knowledge about what is going on in the market. Apart from this our faculty makes sure that the classes are not very limited to the walls they let us explore all possible directions.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester where you have to do an internship project for the semester based Most of the companies that visit are from the news organisations like Bangalore Times, The Hindu, Mint, Times of India, Deccan Herald and other companies like ITC also visit frequently. I am not quite sure about the packages offered.

Placement Experience:

By the end of the 2nd semester, we are constantly notified about any vacancies in any department. The college placement cell sends us notifications through our class monitors or sometimes throyoutlr HOD. Even after the end of our final semester exam, we are added in a group that is specially meant for job opportunities and placements, where they constantly update and notify us. Out of 32 students in our class, a total of 12 students got placement. As for me, my plan is to do PhD in the said field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is relevant for us which helps us to attempt competitive exams. Actually the curriculum changes our mindset and it helps to face the real society. I don't think that improvements needes in curriculum. We get one & half hour for internal tests and 3 hours for sem exams and it is enough foe us to cover whole question paper.

curriculum is extensive and large and some students find it hard to grasp all the knowledge given for the syllabus. it may seem daunting at first but i rather prefer this than having little to nothing to study as it helps me find new things to read which i would have never figured out before.
