Course Curriculum Overview

4

My course is a triple disciplinary course in Biotechnology, Chemistry and Microbiology. It's a pretty impressive yet morbidly difficult course over other such courses. It's future aspects span a huge range of jobs with inclusions like research and development as well as corporate jobs. There is nothing to be improved more in this course, it's pretty much self sufficient the way it is. The frequency of exams is pretty average however there are frequent class tests which is important for the students' development. Thetiming of the cia is 1.5 hr and for the end sems is 3hr. The papers are pretty standard however he Chemistry paper is difficult.

Internships Opportunities

5

Comapnies like Infosys and Cognizant hires Commerce students of our college. I don't know their stipend but it's pretty high than normal. Keeping a good resume by performing well and having a lot of academic as well as non-academic exposure will help a student land up in a very amazing job

Fees and Financial Aid

Mount Carmel College (Autonomous), Bengaluru is built by the CSST and charges minimal for its courses. As per my course is concerned, The course amount is somewhere around 51000 per semester. On top of that, since I'm a student from West Bengal and not a Karnataka resident, I had to pay an initial extra 30000 and alskg with surcharges and all it went up to 152000 initially for the first two semesters.

Campus Life

5

Cul week is held in August. Academicia is held in December/January Cul-Ah is the biggest fest of our college and one of the biggest college fests in India and is held in February. We also have a sports day and a sports fest in January called Khel. There are 67 total associations in my college including music associations, subject-related associations, drama, dance and what not! We have a library in the college and also an E-InfoHub where we can find pretty much anything and everything that we are looking for and it's very easily accessible. The classrooms are well equipped with a projector, screen, smart board and a normal blackboard. Two-three NGOs are run by few of the students of our college and a travelling-based tourism start-up called 'Gulab Jamoon Experiences' is also run by the students of our college.

Admission

I applied in Christ University for a B.Sc. in Biotechnology but did not end up going to Christ when I heard about it's cons that it focuses more on its outer image rather than imparting quality knowledge. I chose MCC over Christ because it has better placements and better opportunities than Christ. I chose MCC Bengaluru over any college in my hometown Kolkata because over there, there are no colleges imparting such a good course as this and inherently, I knew I had to come here.

Faculty

The teacher to student ratio in our college is 1:20 which I feel is pretty amazing. The faculty here is just top-notch. Most students in our class are outstation students and the teachers here don't let us feel that we are at a place away from home. They are really very amazing. Specially, my chemistry teacher, Mahesh sir and our German teacher, Surya Sir are one of the most amazing teachers I've ever been under. There are no teachers in the college whom I dislike. Every semester, there is going to be a mid-term test of 30 marks for all subjects known as CIA(continuous internal assessment) and after that they as re going to conduct pre final practical exams for practice.

Night Life

5

The nightlife around is amazing. There are two-three lanes full of shops and amenities. There are malls nearby. Gyms and parks are there in mid frequency. Hostels curfew at maximum 7pm but mostly people stay in PGs which have a curfew of 9:30pm. The locality is very safe to roam around at night and Jawaharlal nehru Planetarium and Bengaluru Palace are the closest tourist places while a lot of other places are also there nearby.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key reasons I chose this course was its industry-oriented curriculum, especially the integration of modern technologies such as- Full Stack Development, DSA, AI/ML, Real-world capstone projects and hackathons. The curriculum does a good job in terms of bridging academics and industry demands- we work with Git, APIs, etc, then there are group projects mimic startup/team experience encouraging collaboration. DEspite the strengths of the course, it should have depth over breath on some topics, which were covered to quickly. Too many exams happen throuout the year are come very frequently, it could be changed.

The college is new so there is no placement report of the 4th year batch. but the placement report of the scaler academy has an average of 26 LPA. the internship report of the second year batch is pretty impressive with 96% students did atleast one internship with an average of 30k per month without any tech background before coming to the college.

Companies' concepts like DSA, oops, DBMS operating system and even an interview role built into the structure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this curriculum because of it's niche it's CS centric! nothing else! if someone like me is so much interested in CS I would say nowhere I will be finding a better curriculum! We work with industry experts! on a regular basis! they visit our collage not only that they also take our sessions! The curriculum changes like with change of tech! like last year we didn't have a particular AI and Ml in course with So much advancement in AI and ML they introduced one in our curriculum! Exams are too frequent I would say but not soo hard! i would say medium! and we have exams for max of 3 - 4 days!
