What Students Say
Likes
- The college has a reputed Brand name which came handy while opting for off campus Placements and Internships. The Placements is decent here when compared to South and Off campus colleges and they have an average placement of 14,00,000+ offered
- The campus life is pretty great I get to meet some of the best minds of India and it makes the atmosphere competitive on the same time which is toxic but good for personal development.
- With exceptions the faculty is great here. Hansraj lacks in infrastructure as we have small campus and needs repairs. But overall the campus is decent as compared to other colleges.
Dislikes
- The level of internship provided is not good and one has to look for off campus opportunities for the same. Even though college have 70+ societies most of them are not useful for CV and Placement purposes.
- The Course Curriculum is not good but the college can't be blamed for this as it is prepared by Delhi University but the Course Curriculum has not updated for years and subjects like Hindi are being taught to students.
Course Curriculum Overview
Generally in Commerce streams students have two options to pursue that is Bcom Hons and Economics Hons I opted the first one because it aligned with my dream of pursuing CA. It doesn't prepare at all for real-world applications or further academic pursuits as this course is old and haven't updated for years. Hindi is teached as a subject that will hold no releveance in our professional journey. First of all these subjects like Hindi, VAC, SEC etc needs to be removed they hold no relevance in our academic development and then teaching needs to be interactive with real world tools like AI, Power BI etc needs to be integrated. 2 times a year - They are simple
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunties are hardly available in college. The internship cell of college is almost dead with no internship opportunties provided and if provided they are almost related to marketing, sales and human resource for which very less students are interested in thus students have to find off campus opportunties. Some companies that came are Nation Namo with 50,000 per month stipend and Barcalys with stipend of 25,000 per month.
Placement Experience
From 5th Semester students become eligible for Campus Placements. Companies include Bain, ZS, LEK, Accenture, DE Shaw, PWC, Deloitte, Futures First, EY, United Airlines, Zomato, Digit, Airtel, Genpact, Lenskart, ICICI Bank, Grant Thornton, NAMO, Ecom Express etc. and 280+ offers are made, Highest Package is 23,00,000 and average placement is 820000 with Top Quartile Avergae of 14,00,000 with 26% roles in Consulting, 31% in Finance and 17% in accounting. My plan is to pursue CA
Fees and Financial Aid
Hardly the fees is increased. It's around 24,000 a year so for 3 years of my course it costs me 72,000 overall. Generally the EWA Category students are provided with the scholarships after filling an application with college adminstration.
Campus Life
The name of the annual fest is Confluence and this is held in April - May. All kinds of books are available from science to commerce to arts with E-Library option also available. Technological provisions withing classrooms are generally Smartboards. Almost all the sports and extracurricural activities are offered. There are around 70+ Student run groups, Societies and clubs but only some of them are useful.
Admission
You need to give CUET Exam for the same. You can visit the NTA Website for the same. Yes there is the reservation for SC,ST,EWS category Two semesters are there every year so 2 exams are conducted with level of difficulty being moderate.
Faculty
In a class 1 Faculty is provided for 100 Students on an average but it doesn't impact my overall learning experience because the students attendace remains low. Some faculty members have amazing credentials with someone doing Phd, MBA etc. and their approach to teaching is really interactive and Unique but this is the case with only few teachers not all as most of them are in holidays or cancels classes. But overall it's a nice experience. Generally we can interact with them anytime but as we do not prefer going to college because of waste of time the interaction with teachers remains limited.
