The course curriculum is updated every 4 years. One thing I love about my degree is how it starts things slow and later clutches and delves into the advanced stuff. Labs are given equal importance with strict attendance criteria. Industry standards are well maintained and you won't miss out on the latest technologies. Some room of improvement is still there, like we should totally do away with writing 100 pages of assignment for a grade, Labs can particularly upgrade some of their equipment in accordance to the industry standards. Although if you are passionate about this degree, there are times when you will feel like you can't go any further due to how rigorous this course is but that time passes after you spend a nice weekend with family/friends.

At the end of the 6th semester, students are sent to do internships at various PSUs like IOCL, NTPC, ONGC etc. Some students also opt for private internships that are paid so that the student gets rewarded for his work.

From 7th semester onwards, students start preparing for placements and entrance exams. Siemens Energy, TCS, Wipro, Amazon, Cognizant and other multinational companies visit for placements. About 50% of the students are placed every year.

Tuition is very affordable compared to other technical institutes. No unreasonable hikes have been announced as of yet. You can wrap up your complete BTech in <500000. You don't miss out on any opportunities due to low fees.

Ecstasy (March) and Techcracy(October) are the cultural and technical fests of this college. Don't expect much because of it's locational disadvantages. A wide range of books from philosophy to electrical engineering are present in the central library. You can play football, cricket, badminton, tennis and basketball in the campus. there's also a newly equipped gym that opened recently.

You should have scored >50% in your 10+2 exams to be eligible for a BTech degree here. Application forms come out every year just after board exams so be prepared for the counseling process and keep checking cit.ac.in regularly for necessary information. All reservation schemes expected from a CFTI are available. As a CFTI, it should take BTech undergraduates only under JEE Main to ensure the quality of students don't get diluted.

The faculty-to-student ratio in our department is 1:5. You certainly won't feel there's a shortage of professors here. Barring 2-3 faculty members, everyone has a PhD and the rest are busy obtaining it. They teach traditionally with the best information available regarding the subject matter. Although I feel classes should be equipped with smart boards given it's usefulness. Professors are more than happy to clear your doubts during office hours. They are very approachable and will never shy away from clearing your problems.
