Course Curriculum Overview

BA(JMC) is a course which gives a lot of exposure of the outside world. It helps you keep updated about your surroundings and about the changing patterns of the digital world. There are a lot of various fields where you can go after pursuing this course. You can become a graphic designer, a video editor, acting, film making, etc.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 125000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Looking at the variety of skills that you can gain through this course, the fees for this course are quite high depending on the facilities and equipment provided. There are scholarships for SC, ST. And scholarships based on family income. Here in the media field, you have to work hard to earn a small amount of money but this field is very interesting and there is a lot to learn and explore.

Campus Life

The college have various societies and clubs respective of the departments like in the VSJMC department there are number of societies . Print appreciation society, Manthan- the debating society, Sankaran. I would advise you to join only one society as sometimes it can get very hectic.

Admission

The eligibility of course is minimum 60% of marks in 12th grade and to get admission in VIPS u have to fill a the registration form on the GGSIPU website which will cost a 1200 Rs. and once your form is approved you are eligible to give the IPCET exam. The GGSIPU colleges provide preference to the Delhi students only 15% of seats are reserved for outside Delhi students. The entrance exam is average to tough.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is quite balanced. They have a total of 4-5 teachers for 1 subject on 300 students. Also the teachers are quite friendly with the students which makes it really easy for the students to approach them regarding any doubts and the faculties are well trained and also have a great industry experience.

Students become eligible from 4th year to sit in placements. Famous companies like NDTV, News 24 , India today, ABVP,etc comes for placement. Highest package was 1200000 per annum and 300000 per annum is average package. Profiles offered are reporter,research executives, content creator, anchor, field reporter,etc I will go for anchoring after completing the degree.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.

The Glimpse of DSJ

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate my course four out of five because in journalism is a field where people are not about so much. The main stream media does not show the real problems and challengs of the country. They live in a bubble of their own. Many of the times they provide miss information to the people which hurts the hearts of the people. They do not cover multiple aspects of media. The exams in the daj is not so hard you can easily pass it by just 4 to 5 days of preparation.

GGSIPU all the colleges I checked out and without a debate Vivekanand School of Legal Studies wins it hands down. Admission through CLAT scores and even IPU entrance scores are accepted.
