Experiencing Practicality

The administration sometimes makes last moment decisions which cause a lot of distress to students especially those not from Bangalore.

I was able to get the desired branch in a college preferably better. Also, this lies in Bangalore with many job opportunities. Also, this has many extracurricular activities besides studies. So, overall this was the best option for me rather than others of the almost equal level.

The course curriculum is a bit rigorous but still if one is in his/her desired branch, he may easily go through it and excel. I myself have faced a lot of difficulty in the beginning, but slowly got adapted to this and show improvement in my performance.

The college doesn't provide an internship. Instead, sometimes companies come and take tests, personal interviews and other caliber accessing exams to choose candidates for an internship. this happens only in 3rd and 4th year, and the stipend is generally above 20000.

As regarding core circuit branches like CSE and ECE, the placements are 100%. Almost everyone ends up getting jobs with an average salary of around 10 lakh per annum. The other branches like Mechanical and Civil have comparatively lesser percentage of students getting core jobs, almost 50%.

There are a number of events celebrated in college like the fest 8th Mile. Other social events are Paper drive, Blood Donation Camp, Kannada Rajyotsava, Ethnic Day and many more. Outside events include Megatrek etc. Other than these there are fests conducted by each department separately.

The college fees for Karnataka based students is 80,000 per year. For non-Karnataka students, it is 2,00,000 per year. This amount is expensive for many of us because many aren't able to afford it and at the same time, no scholarships are there that provide more than 25000 for non-Karnataka students.

There is no scholarship/loan from the college side. If someone wants to avail any loan, he has to be in SC/ST and apply either to the state/central government schemes whichever applicable.

Boys hostel is inside the campus. Total of 4 buildings is there each having its own mess. The 3 girls hostel are outside campus towards the city at an approximate distance of 10 km. the mess food quality is average which might be the only reason many students live in PGs or flats. Otherwise, hostel facilities are good.

We will be able to find the college's alumni all over the world. There are alumni meets held in college but most of the time it's not a very successful event since many couldn't naturally make up here.

I gave the entrance test and after getting a decent rank, decided to join here. It was an offline counseling and we had to submit all required documents. The counseling had more than 100 engineering colleges in the list out of which I chose this as this was the best according to my research.

The faculties of my college are good enough. Almost all of them are having M Tech of Ph.D. qualification from abroad colleges. Most of them are good in basic understanding of the subject and are cooperative in clearing doubts and confusion regarding anything in their domain.
