Complete Review for IIIT Kalyani by the student of IIIT Kalyani

The Curriculum in IIIT Kalyani strongly focuses on IT an Computer Technology. They also give much credits to the core subjects of Computer Science and aim to deliver as much knowledge as they can to the students. The Curriculum solely focuses on real world applications and primarily focuses on innovation and technology. Areas to prove are that it gives too less time for the students to completely understand the course. But i believe that it is manageable for an average student. A student can still learn a lot of things in that time . There are 2 main exams in each semester which are mid semester examination and end semester examination. And there are also internal marking tests which can be quiz or subjective depending on the professors choice. Semester duration is approx 4 months and there is a 2 moths given as holidays for students after semester.

Internships you can either take off campus or on campus depending on you. The on campus internships are comparatively low but still offer a decent stipend The college mainly focuses on the companies who offer full time. But in the groups they do share many links for off campus internships opportunities.

After 6 semester you will be eligible for on campus placement. But you can get internship offers earlier. The companies visited last year are Deltax, TCS research, zscalar, yellow class. Total 51 oncampus companies came last year. Highest package- 32lpa Avg package- 11.47lpa Last year placement percentage was 88.9% My plans after the degree are higher studies and masters.

Tuition fee may increase or decrease if the permanent campus is completed because they may have extra expenses for renting a campus. My complete cost will be around Rs 10-12 lakh evrything included for four years. Id card few is taken only once but if you lose you id card then they will charge extra for that. So first semester fee goes around 1.01 lakhs. There may be state scholarship of the students but the institute doesn't offer any scholarship for any student except SC and ST category. They get a fee waiver. The campus placements will start from August 2024 for my batch.

There is a Gymkhana in the campus. Every student is the memeber of Gymkhana and under Gymkhana comes all the co curricular activity clubs such as coding club, sports club, poetry club, etc. Every club has its secretary and there are also general secretary. In higher posts there are VP and Treasurer. Labs are not yet developed completely as it is not permanent campus but it'll soon be done.

My admission process was easy and I got allotment and documents verified online in just 3-4 days. You can apply here through josaa counselling and once you get allotment then you can easily follow their instructions on their portal and get your admission. Application form and everything you can get from their official portal. Since it is through josaa counselling, there are no need for improvement in the process.

Faculty to Student ratio is around 1:30 . So there are not many Professors and during the project work. The professors have a very busy schedule as they have 3-4 groups under their guidance. The faculty at IIIT kalyani are highly qualified and have a very vast knowledge in their respective fields. Such as Faculty like Dr. Debashish Bera sir specialized in Coding Theory. Dr Sanjoy Pratihar sir teaches subjects like Database Management Systems and Automata Theory and Applied Mathematics. Dr. SK Hafizul Islam sir teaches subjects like DSA and Blockchain.
