Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive to the current industry standards and advanced than most other top colleges of India. The IT specific courses start right from the 1st sem and are relevant to the branch. There are no subjects like chemistry in the 1st year. Exams are conducted on average in every 20 days and the difficulty level is hard to moderate.
Internships Opportunities
All top tech companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, De. Shaw, Salesforce, etc visit college every year and the roles offered are majorly sde intern or product intern with stipend ranging between 75,000-1,50,000. On campus OA and interviews are to be undertaken to get selected.
Placement Experience
On Campus internship opportunities start from 5th sem onwards and placement opportunities from 7th sem onwards. Name of companies and placement statistics are available on official site of IIITA. Highest pakage offered in 2024 is of 1.05 crore and average is of 33 lakhs. Placement percentage range between 97-100 for past 5,6 years.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees hikes are not frequent or there is a very less or negligible hike from 1st to 4th year of our journey in college. Tuition fees for odd semester is between 90,000 to 1 lakh and for even semester it is 80-90 thousands. Mess charges are on average 25,000 per semester. All financial scholarship through states and all government scholarships are provided as in any other government college. Placement percentage always range between 97-100%
Campus Life
The cultural fest Effervescence, technical fest Aparoksha, and the sports fest Asmita are held every year on a grand scale. The library of IIITA is well sufficient for almost all books related to our field. Every classroom is equipped with a projector and speakers. Sports and extra curricular are not much emphasised in IIITA. There is a student run NGO called prayas which provides educational equipment as well as daily tuition for the poor students from nearby village in the college campus.
Hostel Facilities
Until 2 year we need to share double rooms although there is a facility to opt for single room in certain conditions. From 3rd year onwards we get single room. Hostels are in good condition and are only old 10- 12 years. Hostel fees is compulsory and is included at the time of semester fees payment. Mess food is average.
Admission
The admission process is not very difficult and hectic as different branches are assigned different timings. The admission is taken through JEE Mains and DASA. Cut-off of JEE mains for general category is nearly 5000 or below rank. Admissions are done through Josaa counselling. All caste reservations in India are considered also there is special reservation for girls.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio would be 1:5 but not all facilities would teach us. There are 3 sections for IT and for a particular course there are 3 different facilities for 3 different sections. This sometimes creates syncing issues with the course syallabus. The approachability is very good and faculties respond quickly. All facilities are very brilliant and well educated through top universities and are focused to their research work.
Other Applied Colleges
National Institute of Technology - [NITK] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Information Technology)
As NIT's have 50% regional reservation I felt it would be difficult for me to adapt. Also the average package and batch strength of NITK was less than IIITA
