Remarks

College infrastructure is excellent. Almost you can say it's a small city where all daily needs can be fulfilled. The students are quite technical. Overall, I don't find any disadvantage in college. sometimes snakes are found on the roads but it's quite natural because of the presence of grounds and other plants.

Entrance Preview

I opted this college because on Quora I found good reviews about this college and also it is one of the prestigious colleges of India. So I decided to join this college as compared to any other college. My Jee mains rank was 33000 so I was having the option of this nit, so I decided to join mechanical engineering in this college. The placement reviews of this college are also good. So overall I found this college to be beneficial for me.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum of this college , what I found is excellent. The syllabus of various subjects is designed in accordance to various national exams like GATE, IES, IAS syllabus and also included only those topics in the syllabus which are interesting and have practical applications in daily life.

Internships Opportunities

There are training and placement cell at NIT Agartala. Our college does not provide any training however there are certain workshops organized which are very beneficial. However, our college recommends good students for training in other IITs and industries.

Placement Experience

4

Placement is quite good. If your CGPA is above 8.0 you will be allowed to sit for a company interview and if you are found of good knowledge of the subject, you will be hired. Last year in mechanical engineering the highest package was 17.5lakhs and average was around 6 lakhs. For computer science and engineering, the highest package was around 12 lakhs. For ECE, the highest package was around 9lakhs. Percentage of placed students is also good. In mechanical branch around75%of total students use to get placed in a recruited company.

College Events

4.5

Every month there is some event in the college. Various events include aayam 6.0, Advaita which is a techno-cultural fest of nit Agartala, Ananya which is an event by 'we can' family of nit Agartala, Soar which is an event by robotics club.'Advaitam' is conducted every year in the month of February and is a 7day long event. Also in the month of September, there is Hindi Saptah, in which various Hindi based programmes are organized to respect the Hindi language. Various programmes include debate, essays, speeches in Hindi language.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is in accordance with a decision by MHRD. However, it is feasible for every student. For SC/ST students no admission fee is required. For General students, the categories are divided. For students having a family income less than 1 lakh, they have to give around 20000rs per semester and for income between 1 lakh and 5 lakh, fee per semester is around 40000rs and for general students having family income above 5lakhs, have to pay around 67000 rs per semester. So I found fee structure to be feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarship schemes provided by the college. The top 3 branch rank holders are provided with gold, silver and bronze medals. Scholarships are also provided like UP scholarship, all central govt scholarship schemes. Student loan facilities are also provided in coordination with Tripura Gramin Bank and Canara Bank.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is very beautiful. There is an integrated sports complex, cricket ground, hostel life is awesome. The female students are around 1800and male students are around 4000. There are many active clubs in the college like robotics club, aeronautics club, aviation club, E cell, etc. For extracurricular like sports, there is a place for every possible game like a football ground, table tennis court, squash court, badminton court, cricket ground, swimming pool, etc. Labs are well equipped with all the facilities.NIT Agartala has its own supercomputer also. Also, ISRO launched it's research center at NIT Agartala this year.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are best. There are newly constructed best hostel facilities. For tech 1st years and mtech students, Rabindranath Tagore hostel is provided. For 2nd years, gomti and Howrah hostels are provided. For 3rd and 4th years, aryabhatta hostel is provided. For girls, there is Gargi hostel. From next year, like IITs, all the day scholars will be shifted inside the campus hostels. Mess food is quite good. However, it depends on days. Few days the food quality is shit and a few days the food is like home food. There are many other restaurants in the college where you can get good food at reasonable prices.

Alumni/Alumna

The college has a good alumni network. In every convocation, prestigious alumni take part and offer some amount in the welfare of the college. They are very helpful for college.

Exam Structure

Exams are taken with a very serious schedule. In every semester, there are 2 exams, midterm and end term examinations.Mid term consist of 30%, end term consists of 50%, whereas projects and assignments consist of 20%, making 100%total.On completion, the sgpa is given at the end of each semester and on completion of a year, cgpa is calculated.

Admission

I gave Jee Mains exam in the year 2017 in which I secured a general rank of 33000, so I decided to participate in online josaa counseling and in which I was having two options that either I can select electronics and instrumentation branch in NIT Dil char or Mechanical branch in NIT Agartala. So on the comparison, I decided to join NIT Agartala due to good connectivity and infrastructure.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is average. I found teachers of having preaching knowledge to talking shit! Some professors are really good and some are like just they have got a job and they show no interest in students. They don't teach properly and just pass the time in the lecture hall. However, some are praiseworthy. Some professors come on time daily, make good interactions with students and discuss the most beautiful topics with very practical understandings of the subject.

Placements in NIT Agartala are actually decent, especially for the top branches like CSE, IT, ECE, Mechanical, and Electrical. Every year many companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, L&T, Capgemini, Deloitte, Microsoft, etc. visit the campus. The average package is around 7–8 LPA for CSE/ECE, while core branches get slightly lower, and the highest goes up to 40+ LPA in some years. For other branches like Civil, Chemical, and Production, the placements are a bit lower, but students still manage through campus plus off-campus drives. What I like is that the placement cell is active, and we also get internship opportunities in our 3rd year which help us prepare.
