Course Curriculum Overview

4

I was a PCMB student and i really loved caculative maths especially the calculus, so in a way calculus drove me to this course, in first semester we had calculus which u enjoyed but I did not had cordial relation with other subjects like : group theory. The curriculum is not outdated because the fundamentals of calculus and real analysis are there which are the bases of higher maths. We got to use " Mathematics software" Which was really fun to use, we can see visuals of trignometric functions and realize their everyday utility in machines, algorithms etc. The exams were conducted on time, internals were given by faculties and externals are same for all DU colleges of same courses.

Placement Experience

2.5

Campus placements are not frequent, a placement event is organised annually where many companies visit and students go there with their respective CVs, the giant companies hardly visited our college, the placement rate for computer science and it's allied branches is higher than others. Final year student becomes eligible.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure was like: in first year :11, 000 then 14,000 in next two years. The provisions for scholarships were for economically and socially backward communities, the process was simple one need to go to admin get the site link where they fill there form and then a date is provided for interview of candidates in which family related questions are asked and the continuation of scholarship depends upon academic performance of student.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest is typically organised in month of august approximately one month after commencement of classes. They invite mostly singers like hardy sandhu, ammy virk, akhil etc. Competitions like Mr and Miss freshers is also conducted. Overall the college life is "vivid".the library has a lots of books, I loved that place, the cleanliness and calmness of library with well stacked books is lovely. Sports facilities are also good there, it has a huge lawn/ground where students can play multiple sports. NSS unit is engaged in social welfare tasks life book drives, cloth drives.

Admission

Since CUET -UG was not there at that time, we were part of traditional method of admission where board marks are the sole basis of admission, starting off with registration then waiting for the CUTOFF Lists on du website, it you get into the percentage limit published by du colleges, one visited thale dream college, get the document checked and paid the fee.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty of mathematics department are quite amazing. The ratio was 1:68 which didnot create chaotic ecosystem as there were ample seats for everyone and professor was audible to us even if we are at last bench. The understanding and grasping of concepts was smooth, the teaching method applied by faculties was not alike but it was Fruitful, many students from my class who really loved-maths cleared IIT-JAM in final year and they are doing great thanks to the professors like Narendra sir who made learning fun and easy. Faculty is always available to help, they all were kind, intuitive and compassionate and did not follow conventional way of teching.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For the course i must say that this is something everyone needs to study about even if it's for just a part. We have ethics, moral, cultural relativism and etc. In our syllabus and it all really help to make our thinking rational, to see World from that point of view from where one can see the clarity. It's really necessary for improvement in personality and making good decision. I think there's need for making this course more practical like teaching, we can teach students about essentials of philosophy for there betterment of decision making from an early age.

It is often recommended curriculum for UPSC/MPSC/political journalism. However they need to provide teachers or short video lectures do that the course become comprehensive.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant and covers all the history topics comprehensively. The study material is very good as many upsc aspirants and students preparing for competitive exams refer it. Though the curriculum can be improved by limiting and only adding the essential topics in it. There is too much of unnecessary information which makes it difficult to understand at times.
