A vibrant campus of PU

I had mainly opted this course because of their curriculum which was well fitted with the NET syllabus. PU covers the entire NET syllabus for English literature without missing on anything. It gave more importance to the toughest part of our syallus, that is, literary theory. It was taught very well and has helped me in cracking my net exam as the syllabus mostly included majority of it. Exams were of high standards and we have to score 50% inorder to pass which really helps us strive for more.

Companies like Thomas cook, Pick your trail, HDFC, Allianz and many international companies hold internships at the university. Aloh with it, we can also work as intern in any of the government offices.

For us English students, campus placements start in the final semester. But for the other courses, it starts from second semester itself. About 70% of students get placed from the university with good packages.

There definitely was an increase in the tution fee, that was the only negative to be mentioned. But other than that, the fees is reasonable. Scholarships were available to students who scored first few ranks in the entrance exams, which were a great deal of help to them Also, there are internships available through our mentors which is of great help.

There were several clus that was initiated by several departments. But what captured me most was the cultural activities. Since, it was a mix of people from various states, almost every other day had some celebration associated with it. There were also a lot of fundraising programmes and flashmobs.

Hostel facilities are literally top notch. They undergo maintenance works every year during vacation time. So, once we re enter the campus, it's all clean and neat again. Very much safe and very much free with no curfew at night.

When I wrote the entrance it was not CUET, but pondicherry University entrance exam. So the cut off was varying. For the general category cut off was 170 marks. But for reservation, anything close to 120 was accepted. Reservation benefits were good and financial aid was also given help with.

There were about 8 faculties for us 120 students in our class. Even though the numbers were small, they had effectively worked together to help us understand our subjects better. Professors were graduates of prestigious universities themselves and even had teaching experience from IIT's. This helped a lot in shaping our overall outlook on the subject. Our third year research project were a success due to a very advanced approach from our faculties. They were with us right from the literary review to the day we submit our research project.
