Course Curriculum Overview

3

I am currently pursuing B.Tech in Electronic and Communication and I choosed this because I want to be a VLSI engineer but now by diving further I think my aim should be toward microchip designing. University have organised laboratory for the core subjects and industry based real life subjects also. And the labs have very well maintained equipments But the drawback is you have to be in lab for the learning. Other than your class time its difficult to be in lab. But if your professor knows you are a potential candidate He/She will allow you without any hesitation. But personally I don't think there should be a change in the teacher merhod. Faculty is eager to teach us the new stuff if the candidate is prepared to learn and grasp concepts. By all this we all think exams are going to be tough but it is very basic level and also difficult at the same time. Because you should have deeper k knowledge to be able to perform well im exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as I know there is no tuition fee increase policy thus far. If they introduce for the newer batch it will be a thing. For btech ece the tuition fees is 1,20,000 INR After applying for scholorship your fees varies from 10%-60% of the tuition fees. No scholorship is for the residential charges. I am currently paying 72,000/sem after applying the scholorship (LPUNEST). The residential charges vary according to your needs For non-ac 4 seater - 80,000/yr 4 seater AC - 90,000/yr There is also apartments, 2 seater, 3 seater, etc Which you can check on the site. Mess laundry and gym facilities are also there but they also depend on your needs. University provides you guaranteed placements (On-Campus) but this doesn't means that you just have to sit through the placement exams and drives and you get a good LPA package if you are a potential candiate surely you get a package which is well paid but if you are cavemen and don't k ka about stuff you will be hired in bulk.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is fun here in LPU because of the campus's environment and livelihood. Gender ratio could be a thing but personally if you starts enjoying it won't :) It's not a huge thing about gender ratio like it js around 7:10 girls to boys ratio but still depends on individual All classrooms are ac equipped and every sports facility is provided in tbe campus. There are every clubs and social groups you can name Even there is a separate block allocated to students named as DSW (Department of Student Welfare) They also provide hs attendance benefits.

Admission

You should be a 12th passed candidate with 55% of marks in respective board. For different courses the eligibility criteria differes Addmission form of LPU is available on admissions.lpu.in Fees is 1000 INR and applications are visible on the given site as it keeps changing I can't provide a specific date (Private university things) I don't suppose there is any reservations in the addmissions One thing which is considered as a con is semesters are of only 5 months in which exams are included so the timing is a huge pressure on students. Addmissions are usually kept good because this is the main thing which a stranger see before getting into university so they keep is as smooth and attractive as possible.

Faculty

4.5

Usually the faculty to student ratio is 1:36. But this is only for tutorial classes in which only 1 group of a section sits. The actual lecture have abour 1:72 ratio which is considered okay I suppose because for this far till 1st year I did not faced any kind of problem having lectures. Mentorship is too good in the campus. If we have any kind of issue I can call my mentor any time and he also humbly help me out I've tried it and telling this bh experience because one day I called mt mentor around 10 o'clock and he answered me without even hesitatation and resolved my issue. Teachers are also available at their respective cabin number which is provided in the universities app We can visit them by looking into the app that they are free or not.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In 3rd semester a student is eligible for campus placement but it is all upto to students that they have to maintain a good cgpa and skills for interviews. In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
