Course Curriculum Overview

3

I was very interested in learning about electronics so I chose it. In this college there is a thing called question bank from which most of the questions are picked directly and will reflect in your semester end examinations. So getting a CGPA above 9 is a piece of cake. Also there are questions picked from assignments and quizzes so getting CGPA will be very easy. You will need to learn new technologies which will help you in your placement. There are 2 internals in one semester and they usually came after a 2 month interval. According to me, you can learn the college course work 10 days before examinations and you have ample of time for learning skills that will help you in placements.

Internships Opportunities

2

Internship opportunities are few but it is available for those who can study on their own. We can get internship in 3rd year if you have the required cgpa. The stipend offer ranges from anywhere between 10k - 100k. If you perform well in internship you can land a pre placement offer. By the third year you need to work hard and learn latest technologies which will help you in the internship and eventually in the placement.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students can get their internships from the 3rd years itself and they will be provided a decent stipend too. The placements of this college are fine. The highest package was from ISE department of 41LPA in 2022. After that 31LPA was highest in 2023. If you are skillful in the current technologies and keep your CGPA good you can get placed in a good company. Very little students remain unplaced after the end of 4 years. In my department i.e ECE there percentage of students places was 91% something which is quite good for a tier 3 college. Just know that you will need to work hard and get competitive so that you can get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

So there are basically 2 modes of admission here. One is KCET and the other one is COMEDK. I personally got in through KCET. The fees through KCET will be 96000 but the college will take additional 20000 after you get here. The mess and hostel combined will cost you 80000. For COMEDK students the fees is 2.6 lakhs and the hostel will cost you 80000. There are lots of other things you will spend your money on such as books, assignment sheets, lab records etc. There are also a lot of competitions which you can take part in and if you're luck you can win the prize money too.

Campus Life

2

The campus life is mostly boring. The college is dominated by local people who speak kannada and there is very less room to enjoy for non kannada speakers. Library does contain books but the faculties are below par. Air conditioning does not work in library and the washroom all around campus is untidy specially for women. Almost all classrooms have projectors but very few work . Sports facilities are there but there also it's dominated by localities. Lots of clubs are the in the college but one should join selectively as clubs demand time specially if there is any club event in close proximity.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Hostel infrastructure is outdated as it was built in 1963 and since then close to no renovations has been done. Rooms are small and compact with no ventilation. Threre are two sharing and single sharing rooms . Cost of double sharing room is 80 thousand per person and 85 thousand for single room. Two tables , chairs and beds are provided for double sharing rooms. Washroom is very unhygienic and isn't cleaned regularly. Western toilets are few and even fewer are functional. Mess food is simply inedible and I personally won't recommend it to anyone.

Admission

My admission was through KCET . So first you will need to attend the counseling held by Karnataka examinations authority. This is the most important part, fill the colleges carefully in the preference order. After two rounds and the extended round you will be alotted a college and if you decide to admit in it you will need to pay the fees i.e 96000 through bank and then you will get the admission order. This admission order must be submitted to the college and that's it you will be admitted in that college.

Faculty

2

This college has a thing called as proctors. You can call them your local guardians. If you're facing any problem you can approach them. The ECE faculty though is very strict and most of the faculty members do not care about you and and your future. They have a 85% attendance policy which is very hard to maintain and of you fail to do so you will be not eligible to write the semester end examinations . Even if you are 2 minutes late for the class they will not take you in and your attendance for the day is gone which will lower your attendance percentage. Not all the teachers are bad though, they have good knowledge about their respective domains and of you pay attention in the class you will like it.

Top it companies like TCS infosys, wipro, Accenture, capgemini, cognizant, IBM, tech mahindra mind tree. The campus receives 300+ offers. The average package 8 - 10 LPA and highest package 54 LPA. Every year 90% students are placed. After my degree i am planning to higher studies in abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is generally detailed and aligned with industry Expectations but there is still scope for modernisation in certain areas.Overall i would like to rate 8/10. The syllabus include both theoretical and multiple lab components which ensures hands on learning. The practical labs like programming work and project with learning help students understand how concepts are applied in real work places. A few theory heavy subjects feel outdated and no longer match the current industry demand this could be revised or replaced.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester, but the overall placement scenario in DSCE for CSE is below average. Not even 50% of students get placed in good companies. Most students end up getting offers from mass recruiters or in sales and non-tech roles. Only a small percentage of top performers get decent technical packages. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant, and a few mid-tier companies visit the campus, but the number of high-package, core-tech roles is very limited. The average package is on the lower side compared to other top COMEDK colleges. Because of this, many students plan for higher studies, certification courses, or off-campus drives after completing the degree. The on-campus placement support definitely needs improvement, especially for technical roles.”
