What Students Say
Likes
- The academics here, in my college, is really commendable. Most students are enthusiastic learners.
- As it is a government medical college, there is no such thing as a placement cell. Every student has to compulsorily complete one year of paid internship after their 4.5 years of study.
- Professors are approachable and willing to help when the student is in need.
Dislikes
- The infrastructural development is being overlooked and needs some serious look
- The campus is neither too big nor too cramped. However it does lack a playground.
- Waste dissposal system of the campus is unsatisfactory, especially, considering the fact that it is a hospital area.
Course Curriculum Overview
MBBS is a challenging course. However it is one of the most noble and respectable professions. I was personally attracted to the idea of pursuing MBBS because of its vast career opportunities that offer a person respect, money and is again beneficial for the society. This giees without saying that the syllabus to be covered is very extensive and examinations do take place once a month or every 2 months.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since this is a government college, the fees is nominal. Around 50000 rupees for the entire course. After finishing 4.5 years of study, during internships, every intern is offered around 28000 rupees as stipend. But, there are many government sponsored scholarships which can be availed by people who are unable to afford the college fees.
Campus Life
There are multiple opportunities in my college for pursuing co-curricular activities. I, myself, am enrolled in a quiz club. There are other camps as well for mobile gaming enthusiasts, singers, etc. The library contains of all the essential books that are required for clearing examinations as well as gold standard international textbooks for reference.
Admission
Admission to this college is strictly based on merit in the NEET examination, which takes place once every year. Application forms are released 3-5 months prior to the exam date, which generally falls on the first Sunday of May.
Faculty
Professors are good. They make efforts to re-explain a topic if the majority of thr class hasn't understood it in the first go. This is despite the fact that time is limited and syllabus is vast. Practical demonstations are praiseworthy. The efforts of the professors are really commendable.
