Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum is very good for preparation of the real world applications. Clinical study and clinics classes should be given more priority. Teaching methods should be more clinically correlated. The frequency and timing of the exams are good

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship of one year after the 4.5 years MBBS Course is mandatory to get the MBBS certificate and registration number of the WBIHS. Internship is given by the government and the stipend is around 45000 monthly. After internship, you will get enough confidence to treat any kind of patient.

Fees and Financial Aid

Semester fee is 4500, and there is total 9 semester in MBBS ( Total 4.5 years). Additional registration fee of 4500 is required and also admission fee is 1000. Per subject exam fee is 600 and there is 14 subject in full MBBS course . So total course fee is around 55000. It is not increasing. Hostel is almost free ( 12 rupees per year). Fees of all category student is same. SVMCM Scholarship is provided by the government. Amount 60000 per year. But you have to score minimum 60 % marks in every Proff Exam to be eligible for the SVMCM Scholarship.

Campus Life

5

Annual Fest name is Asterica, which helps usually in November month. The range and accessibility of books and journals available in the library is enough good. Facilities in the classroom is overall good. Sports and extracurricular activities is rare in our college.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel is overall good. Two beds in a single room. Meal quality is overall good but expensive. All types of food is found in the canteen. Toilet and bathroom of the hostel is not so good. To get PG tou have to go Agarpara and Rathtala or Belgharia.

Admission

I also applied for MCK, SSKM, RGKAR, NRS and CNMC, but I didn't get admission there because of my rank in NEET UG exam. To get admission in this college you have to score a good mark in the NEET UG exam and you have to get a All India Rank below 15000 for Unreserved category.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is around 1: 25. Faculty to student relationship is very good and they are very much approachable. Faculties of the Physiology, Anatomy, Pharmacology, Surgery department is very good. They try to teach all the students, takes classes frequently and helps every student. Faculties of the Microbiology, Community Medicine department is overall bad. They are a bit more strict. There 9 semester exam and 4 Proff exam in this MBBS course. Exams are difficult to score a high marks. Almost 15 students fail to clear each proff exam. The course curriculum is very relevant.

Interview Experience

5

There is no such interview or the test taken bye the college for the admission. You have to score a good mark in the NEET UG exam and if you are a Unreserved category student, you have to secure a AIR of below 15000. Then in the counselling process you have to do choice filling for the college. I had prepared for the NEET UG exam, for almost 2 years. I was affiliated with the Physics Wallah coaching app and I had to take a one year drop for the preparation of this exam. Other Criteria - You have to score a 60 % marks in the HS or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Night Life

3

Favorite hang out spot is wards of the hospital building like medicine ward, surgery ward where I can interact with the seniors as well as patients. Also I like to go to the Ganga Ghat near our college. Library is closed after 7 pm. Gym is there around the college. The locality is not safe to roam around at night, specially for women.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite well maintained till 3rd year but the final year syllabus is too vast to complete within 1 year. I feel duration has to be increased a bit. The process of acquiring knowledge entirely depends on the individual pursuing this course as there is no spoonfeeding as in other courses.

If you can pass the exam that is very tough to pass if you're not serious at all, you'll be able enough to get into any nursing home or you can start treating people staring your own clinic. After 4.5 years you get the internship program that is mandatory to do for all where you get a salary of 32000 per month which is highest among all states .
