What Students Say
Likes
- Talking about the infrastructure, so it gives a DU based vibe from that red bricked building and a good lively experience.
- Presence of cultural activities in variety of societies and clubs is done very well and that too on a regular basis. Highlighting main clubs - E cell MSI, NSS MSI and Prakriti. If someone gets involved in them, they can achieve a great experience.
- Placement cell try their level best to bring placement opportunities for all students to get placed. Program course curriculum is also well updated according to the current market needs with different extra certifications.
Dislikes
- As always every coin has its two sides so it's the same with faculties, few faculties being the best while some also being the one that a student doesn't want. So yes it is a mix of good and bad faculty staff. Generally it is good except a few.
- There might be some improvement possible in the library and the book bank services that is availability of books and other stationary.
Course Curriculum Overview
As I chose BBA (Bachelor's of Business Administration) so in order to pave my smooth way to pursue MBA further and have that pre requisite skillset. The course curriculum includes new age subjects including business analytics and Information systems management with a blend of traditional subjects like human resources management and organisational behaviour. Major thing that I want to highlight is that each semester we can choose one elective from a pool of great specialisations like financial markets and institutions, HR analytics, investment analysis and portfolio management, etc. Thus it allows to pave your own way by choosing best out of it. Frequency of exams i think is perfect that means apt for any bachelors student According to me there must exist more practical knowledge in the curriculum which I think would make it more suitable for business administration students.
Internships Opportunities
Compared to placements, internships are generally under paid or even unpaid. College does helps in providing internships but a student might seek better opportunity from off campus application of internships through portals like LinkedIn and internshala. Companies coming on campus generally include mid scale companies or startups where stipend starts from unpaid to 20,000 a month. So overall it depends upon the profile of the students. Talking about roles offered so internship roles are majorly offered in sales, marketing, business development, Human resources and sometimes finance. Roles like analytics, operations, general management are tough to find. Doing internship and preparing a SUMMER TRAINING REPORT is compulsory for each student and the end of second year.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements starting from 5th semester (last year). Placement WhatsApp group is formed wherein innumerable opportunities for placements are sent. Starting from small startups to large corporates like Amazon , Accenture, S & P Global also visit the campus for their placements. There are many companies which come on campus for placement. Not only companies visit , they even generally makes offer like Accenture made 20+ offers, Amazon also 10+ and many others. Highest packages that can be seen floating is 24lpa and average being 4-5lpa. As students generally opt for higher studies and entrepreneurship so according to me if students sit seriously for the placements then it can be above 80% of the students who get placed well. My plan is pursuing my higher degree (MBA) from a renowned institution and with my hardwork I was able to crack NMIMS MUMBAI for my master's.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fee remains somewhat around 1 lac each year , increasing approximately 4-5% each year , which is good and not too much. It offers quite well training and experience which is worth more than the fee paid. In totality the fee costs around 3.2lacs for three years and taking you to a approximate ROI of 4LPA. It's about the average package that is approximately 4lpa but yes there are students who crack packages like 14-15lpa and some might stuck at 3lpa too. So yes it's based on how you perform and present your skill sets on the D day. As per scholarships, so I don't think they exist but yes financial aid for needy categories is there any can be achieved by completing some formalities. Internship stipend starts from unpaid and goes up till 20k per month. Job roles generally include basic organisatinal roles (not managerial level) from a variety of domains like HR, Finance , marketing, operations and analytics.
Campus Life
Every year The annual fest of Maharaja Surajmal institute is held in the college known as GENESIS, including great and insightful events with cash prizes and all societies join hands to make this fest a great success. Secondly few known personalities like Haryanavi singers like pradeep boora, ramkesh jiwanpuriawala, etc are called from performances and also comedians like Lalit shokeen also came the previous year. Along with this major fest, regular great events keep on happening like the AVENESIS, ECELL MSI organised ESUMMIT AND JALSA (Entrepreneurship based Diwali fest happens). Ethnic days followed by Bollywood day also tends to happen each year. There is a wonderful mix of societies in each domain like ECELL MSI, NSS, PRAKRITI, ROTARACT, SPORTS CLUB, ADVERTERE, SYNERGY, ENACTUS, GIRL UP UNION, PLACEMENT CELL, STUDENT COUNCIL, Etc.
Admission
The basic eligibility includes a 12th pass candidate with a minimum percentage of 65%. The selection is done on the basis of an entrance test called IPUCET which is held every year for all courses in IP University (GGSIPU). This exam includes aptitude questions like quantitative aptitude, management aptitude, GK, verbal ability, etc. At my entrance time , total students appeared were approximately 25000 while only the top 1200 rankers being selected for Maharaja Surajmal institute. There is reservation for delhi domicile candidates in this university as similar to Delhi University. I think the admission process now also must include a interview as the second round for a better selection criteria.
Faculty
Majority of faculties are available for all the students anytime which pose to be helpful for any student to reach out and ask their doubts without hesitation. Therefore teachers are highly approachable. Talking about the faculty's credentials so they are mostly PHD holders and few teachers have great experience which they tend to share with students for best insights. Mentorship sessions are also held by subject teachers regularly. The style of teaching includes theoretical study along with Summer internship, project reports, course certifications and regular presentations.
