What Students Say
Likes
- The thing I liked most about this college is that there are a lot of clubs you can participate in. Lots of extra curricular activities are going on throughout the year.
- The campus, the infrastructure is great.
- The hostel facilities are also good. It will has some problems, but overall, hostel is good.
Dislikes
- Most of the faculty is not supportive. Only some of them are good.
- The exam schedule of the college is not great either. The academic calendar is followed, but a lot of changes take place and it confuses students.
- There is regionalism in club activities. Students from a particular region, (mainly the one where the head belongs to)are preferred for higher positions.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very relevant. They teach from a variety of fields that broadens your career prospects. There is a subject for each semester that is not related to engineering. There are Liberal Learning Courses from which we can choose. The subjects related to engineering are very relevant and comprehensive, as they are helpful in professional life.
Internships Opportunities
Broadly, I can say that internship opportunities are there for the students. For the final year, a student can either do a project or a six month internship. The college helps in finding intership through their contacts.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible from the third year for campus placements. Aruna 80% students get placed. The highest package varies for each year. But the average package is around 8 LPA. A large number of companies come for campus placements. That makes it easier for students to appear for more interviews, and improve their chances of getting placed. For me personally, after getting the degree, I will try getting into defence forces. Until I am trying, I will work in corporate.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are quite high considering it's a government college. Students do get scholarships. The alumni association of the college provides some help. The college also helps students in getting government scholarships. Along with that, students can get private scholarships based on merit. Most private scholarships will have their own exam.
Campus Life
There are six major events that happen throughout the year namely, MindSpark, Impressions, Zest, Pune Startup Fest, Regatte and the Gathering. MindSpark and Impressions are help in the first semester and the other four are in the second semester. Books and journals are easily accessible in the library. Within each classrooms, there is a projector, speakers in big classrooms, and other basic requirements such as light and fans. Sports and extra curricular activities are always happening. All the clubs are run by students. These clubs help students a lot in improving their social life and for their own personality development.
Hostel Facilities
In a hostel room, there are four beds(first year hostel), four cupboards and 4 tables and chairs, lights and fans. The menu keeps changing throughout the year. But the overall review of food quality is not great great. For registration, one has to fill out the form for application for the hostel. Based on merit half the students will get hostel. Other students can live in PGs or apartments nearby. The localities are okay near the college.
Admission
For admission, one has to appear for the MHT CET exam or JEE mains exam. Based on their merit, a student can get into this college. They will have to go through CAP rounds until they get this college. The cutoff for this college is high. The percentile required is about 93 percentile. For JEE quota, the cutoff is around 95 percentile.
Faculty
The faculty members are highly qualified. They have great amount of knowledge. But all of them are not good at teaching. Some are very good, and students like them. There are some who teach good, but don't support students. There are some teachers who just read slides in the classroom and walk away. Students have to learn it by themselves.
