Likes

The things I liked about my college is it's openess . Everybody is treated as an individual here there's no bossing around or anything .
Atmosphere ; the campus is quite big & there are a lot of things to explore

Dislikes

Attendance regulation is very strict,& sometimes they even cut out attendance for trivial issues
Lab & classes are very distant from each other ,sometimes we have to walk a lot during break

I'm currently studying safety & fire engineering,which is not a widespread course ,but it is quite good in Cusat in case of placement wise & faculty wise.The core subjects are said to be quite easy than electronic & electrical streams

Campus placement is quite satisfactory for the course Safety & Fire Engineering. Indian Oil,Gale etc visit every year. Highest is 22 LPA & lowest is 3 LPA 92% got placed in the year 2023-24 I am currently looking for placement options with highest lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

Cusat is quite expensive.For all india merit the fees is 52,720 per semester.For state merit it is less 29,720.There is reservation for SC ,ST & OEC students.As for me it is quite hectic,but I can manage it with the scholarships.

Campus Life

Cusat is an environment friendly campus.It is situated in the heart of Kochi which is a place known for its technological & industrial development Many active clubs are in Cusat like IGBC,sects,IEEE etc Sports are also actively available in the campus

Admission

You should be a science student in +2 & should pass ithe exam with appropriate marks The application form & everything is available in the Cusat website. Cat exam is conducted once every year for btech & other courses.Its quite difficult but will be easy if your are preparing for JEE /neet exams.

Manu faculty know the topic themselves but couldn't share it effectively through us Some are quite good but not everyone Almost all teachers are friendly hence we can approach them for doubt clearance

Review of a Fourth Year Guy

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very old and must be improved to be on par with the ever expanding new technologies. I took this course, since I have a passion in programming. But there are various subjects which are minimal to no - relevant towards my department, which is IT. Chemistry, Chemistry Lab, Physics, Physics lab, Maths ( even though some parts of maths and physics is needed, it can be joined with the other programming subjects so that only things that are specifically necessary are being teached and both, being a seperate subject is unnecessary ), Engineering Graphics, Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical, Civil, Mech Lab, Civil Lab, and all other non-credit subjects ( if there is no credit, why studying ? ). And can include more subjects revolving around various programming languages such as, C++, C#, Kotlin, React, etc.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to attend the placement drives once they are at the seventh semester.There are a lot of companies coming here.I think the average package offered is around 10lakhs per annum and my senior got placed with a job which offered him 55 lpa.The more opportunities are for the it industries but there are also opportunities for other branches.

Placement Experience:

Campus pacements are pretty average here but I think there has been improvements since the college got NBA accredited. Anyways an avg student would get placed into a minimu of 3lakh per annum salary package

Things are good here untill sun hits you.

Placement Experience:

Placements are offered here but for now its really bad. College have a placement cell. Usually a lot of company used to come and take 100s of graduates. This year hits different. Placements were really bad this year. Avg package provided is also low. RS 5.5LPA was the highest and 4 LPA is the avg salary for placed students.

8th semester students are eligible for placement and infosys, Malabar gold, tcs, byjus and many calling centre companies, skilled and high performed student get 9 lakh per annum and average students get 2 lakh per annum. Approx 20 % student get placement. My plan is that I would apt for placements or I will do extra courses for developing my skills

The students become eligible for placement from 5th semester and there are a lot of companies which conduct placement in our college some of them are TCS ,L&T,Indian oil adani limited, J&J ,TATA ELXSI And more The average is 4 to 6 and highest is 18 LPA but there are students who got 24 to 30 LPA without college placement working your own to find a company More than 60 percentage of the students gets placed every year and the percentage is increasing yearly I'm planning to write ICRB EXAM after the degree to get into ISRO

It is a very pleasant and convenient place to complete ones engineering graduation. They provide excellent facilities wether it is in the form of good staffs or lab and other allied facilities. This all combined helps one to experience their engineering life in a much happier and hassle free manner.

i applied for west bengal college and i get admission also but due to high fees and not good courses i leave that college and choose this college Cochin University of Science and technology.I also applied for some state merits college but due to another state category i have less marks they didn't take mine admission. fir getting admission in this college there is a exam called Common admission test and there is a eligibility criteria in phy+chem marks will be minimum 10 and mathematics marks also is 10. i got admission in spot round for this course....Read More

Why choose CUSAT

I was a dropper student but didn't prepare well for JEE. I barely qualified mains and appeared for the advanced but did not clear it. Being a general candidate, I got very few colleges but did not want to compromise the branch. I wanted to pursue Computer Science. CUSAT conducts its own entrance exam CAT which includes questions on PCM with more weightage given to maths.
