Remarks

The main plus point about the college is that its govt affiliated, and very economical even students from weaker economic background can pursue education here only negative point is on campus placement opportunities are limited, so some effort needs to be

Entrance Preview

It has a separate entrance exam NERIST Entrance Exam (NEE). It is a modular 6 years course, with option to get enrolled at Base (after class X), Diploma (after plus 2), and Degree (after Diploma). On an average 60% is the passing marks, however depends on competition. I chose this college due to its affordability in course fees, and location near my native place in north east special quotas are there for the north eastern states, but students across India can take admission in merit quota.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is modular in nature, covering all essential things regular semester exams are held periodically.

Internships Opportunities

Companies do not come for internship you will have to arrange for your own internship during Diploma and degree I did it from BSNL, Agartala do not expect any stipend.

Placement Experience

1.5

You can expect top 30% of the students to get placed in Campus placements are few, but if you can travel to Guwahati, then there are lot of off campus options average salary would be in the range of 2.4 to 3.6 lac pa some companies which have recruited in the past include BSNL, Doordarshan, AIR, Lafarge Cement, ICICI Bank, etc.

College Events

4.5

College Festivals is one of the highlights of NERIST you have round the year cultural fests like RACAF, Sonabyss, etc even there are inter departmental fests which is a great learning opportunity you get to experience cultures of all north eastern states and India as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

Different north eastern govt provide scholarships to their respective students. However, SBI, located inside the campus can also be approached for loan.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is vibrant ragging has been abolished. Cultural parties are often held across communities there are various debates held within streams like ECE, Computer Sciences, etc offering learning opportunities. Male/Female Ratio is about 60/40.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are 6 boys hostels and one girls hostel they are of decent quality rooms are on twins haring basis rent is very affordable, however quality of food is average bara khana, organized once a month is something to look forward to.

Alumni/Alumna

The course curriculum was good. But it should be better by including more practical and site visits for better learning. The exams were not that much difficult you can pass easily. Exam frequency was also good

The Electrical Engineering course curriculum is quite comprehensive, covering key areas like circuit analysis, electronics, and power systems, which has well-prepared me for real-world applications, although incorporating more hands-on projects and industry insights could further enhance its relevance.

From 7th semester, we are eligible for placements. I am from cse branch and most students of CSE get placed with a decent package. Let's see what happens with my batch as my batch has the most students as compared to other batches. Last year the placements were not so good due to recession. Other branches like mechanical, ece, civil too get companies. I don't know about electrical engineering. But we get good number of opportunities for cse.
