Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I am doing economics honours this course is quite good I had a deep interest in economics and wanted to know more about how things work in our own country the term economics is so wide that I cannot just learn it in my schooling years. We have a lot activities through which we get some knowledge of the real world in our initial stages of the college teachers are very much interactive but there is a scope for improvement

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The placement of fyal singh college is decent big companies like unacademy, byjus, deloitte, zomato, cheng are the major recuirters the stipend is upto 50000 depends on the work . The package in 2023 is 23 lakh per annum and the average package is 6 lakh where the placement rate I'm dyal singh college is 32-35 percent for internship college provide lot of opportunities to student and companies like genpact , swiggy, decathlon, etc

Placement Experience

3.5

To be honest I don't know about the placement of other courses but of my course placement are quite decent average package for my course is 5-6 lakh per annum and highest package was more than 10 lakh previous year if you do well in semesters and do internships on regular basis you will definitely get good placement from the college my course also have a scope of doing masters in economics so you can also opt for it after graduation it's a high value course almost 30 percent people take placement from the college

Fees and Financial Aid

In delhi university fee structure is always economical you can easily afford it but hostels are not there in most of the colleges fees of my course is 11000 rupees but when you join the college you have to give 2000 rupees as security amount there is also scholarship facility available in delhi university when anyone could enroll and can easily get benefits from it your college gives provides you scholarship form. There are Many campus employment opportunities you can take from the college stipend thing is difficult in my college

Campus Life

3.5

In dyal singh college we don't have hostel we also have a evening building beside our morning building college infrastructure is good the space college have it is underutilized if maintained on regular basis it will be more good for the students there are more than 20 societies and clubs in our college that's the especially of delhi university you get various opportunities to enhance your talent and field in which you are interested college also have it's own fest in the month of March and also various sports events are organized time to time

Admission

From the year 2022 delhi university changed the criteria of admission which was before percentage based on 12th class but from 2022 they conducted there entrance exam named cuet different courses have different cutoffs and these entrance were held first time so its quite difficult to tell exact marks for cut off but in my college fro economics honors you need to get more than 600 for obc and 710 for general category in admission pprocess there were lot of loopholes like tye entrance exams has been cancels many times in different centres and hudge gap between entrance exams in different states

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
