IIEST, Shibpur - The Oldest Enginnering College

My course is Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering. The curriculum is designed for the benifits of Students so that they get quality education in their field. Well the course might be a little complicated which is the case for the most governments colleges. The course helps in students disciplined lives .

Many companies approach thic college for internships and students also go for off campus . Top recruiters who visited the IIEST Shibpur campus for the placement session 2023 included Microsoft, TCS, Vedanta, Wipro, Cognizant, Media Net, Google , Texas etc. While Civil Engineering is a widely popular branch of engineering in India, a B.Tech. in the same at IIEST, Shibpur is a highly demanded degree. One of the main points of attraction for the interested students is the quality internships that they can avail as civil engineering students at IIEST, through networking with the wide alumni base, situated both in India and abroad.

The complete cost of my course is around 4.5 lakhs and it also depends on the category you belongs to . Like my category is OBC so my tution fee per semester is around 20833, exam fee 1000, admission (registration) fees 500 and other fees 4000. There are several scholarships are available here in our colleges which help students to complete their respective courses.

This college is full of greenery. Well this is the oldest college since 1856, one can find many ruins. But yeah we have acadmic buildings, hostels which are newly builded. There are 17 hostels in our college which include 3 girl's hostels. The infrastructure of hostels and acadmic buildings are really very nice . Now come to the annual and technical fests , we have many fests in our college the departmentall tech fests like Udbhabani of Civil Department, Metallum of Metallurgy department , events like Narcdon, Impetus , sports events held by Senior Hostels and our College's cultural fest Rebeca. And we have many clubs like Reflexobeta (dance club) , Euphony (singing club), Code IIEST, Debsoc , LesThespians and many more.

Hostel's facilities are not so good . Like here we have only one hostel for 1st year girls , 4 girls have to share a room in which you get your seperate bed , study table , and an almirah. They maintained Hygiene which is the most important aspect. Mess food is good .

I'm from one of the famus College of West Bengal IIEST, Shibpur. For getting allotment in this college one have to go for entrance exams like JEE mains, DASA( for the foreign students), BArch Jee conducts bye NTA etc. To be eligible for Btech Civil Engineering at IIEST Shibpur, Candidates must have qualified these exams. Joint Entrance Exam Mains held twice in a year the first attempt is during January and the second one is held during April . Councelling process for admission in institutes held by Jossa and CSAB . Students get colleges on the basis of their percentile in get in the examination. All the shedule of examination and councelling are provided by NTA and Jossa (CSAB) .
