Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum at NITJ struck a balance between relevance and comprehensiveness, providing a solid foundation for academic and practical pursuits. One aspect of the curriculum that particularly influenced my decision to choose this course was its emphasis on hands-on learning experiences and industry-relevant projects. This practical approach not only enhanced my understanding of theoretical concepts but also allowed me to develop valuable skills applicable to real-world scenarios. In terms of preparing students for real-world applications or further academic pursuits, the curriculum did a commendable job. Through case studies, internships, and collaborative projects, I gained insights into how theoretical knowledge translates into practical solutions. Additionally, the coursework encouraged critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for navigating complex professional environments or pursuing advanced studies.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

At Dr. BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), students have access to a variety of internship opportunities offered by reputable companies. These internships provide valuable industry exposure and practical experience to students across different domains. Companies like Tata, HCL, and Deloitte frequently offer internships in roles such as software engineering, marketing, business development, and engineering design. These opportunities allow students to work on real-world projects under the guidance of experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience and developing essential skills. Stipends for internships vary based on factors such as duration and complexity of the projects. The outcomes of these internships include the development of software applications, market research reports, innovative product designs, and research publications. Overall, these internship opportunities play a crucial role in enhancing students' resumes

Placement Experience

3

At NITJ, students typically become eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester onward. Various reputable companies visit the campus to recruit students across different disciplines. Some prominent companies include [Company A], [Company B], and [Company C], among others. These companies offer a range of job profiles and make a significant number of job offers to eligible students. The highest and average packages offered vary depending on the company and the specific job profile. For instance, [Company A] might offer the highest package, while [Company B] might offer a competitive average package. Job profiles offered can range from software developer roles to management trainee positions. The percentage of students getting placed typically ranges from low to high , reflecting the strong employability of graduates from NITJ.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fee structure at my college includes various components that contribute to the overall cost of education. Tuition fees are the primary expense, and there is a policy in place for periodic increases. Typically, these increases occur annually, and the rate may vary depending on factors such as inflation and operational costs. In addition to tuition fees, students are required to pay service fees and other compulsory charges, such as registration fees, examination fees, and facility fees. These additional charges can vary depending on the program of study and any specific services or facilities utilized by students. NITJ offers several scholarships and financial aid options to assist students in managing their educational expenses. Some of the prominent scholarships include merit-based scholarships, need-based scholarships, and scholarships for students from underrepresented backgrounds. The amounts and eligibility criteria for these scholarships may vary,

Campus Life

4

My overall experience with campus life at NITJ was vibrant and enriching, with a strong emphasis on fostering a sense of community and providing ample opportunities for social engagement and personal development. The campus buzzed with activity throughout the year, with various annual and technical festivals that brought together students from different disciplines. Some of the notable festivals include UTKANSH, typically held in March , which showcases talents in the arts, music, and cultural performances. Additionally TECHNITI, held in August , celebrates innovation and technology through workshops, hackathons, and guest lectures. The library at my college boasted a diverse collection of books, journals, and research materials, catering to the academic needs of students across various fields of study. The library facilities were accessible and conducive to both individual study and collaborative research

Hostel Facilities

3.5

At my college, the hostel provided comfortable living arrangements with shared facilities, fostering a sense of community among residents. Meals were served in the dining hall, offering a variety of options to cater to different preferences. The registration process was straightforward, making it accessible and affordable for students. Additionally, some students chose to rent accommodation nearby for greater independence, allowing them to tailor their living arrangements to their individual needs. These options ensured that students had choices that suited their preferences and circumstances during their time at college.

Admission

The admission process at NITJ was a multi-step procedure that encompassed several aspects. Initially, I had to ensure that I met the eligibility criteria for the course I was interested in. This involved checking the academic requirements and any other prerequisites specified by the college. Once I confirmed my eligibility, I began the application process. The application form was available on the college's website, which made it convenient to access and fill out. However, I found that the application fees were slightly higher than expected, which could potentially deter some applicants. In terms of entrance exams, I had to give JEE as part of the admission requirements. The frequency of these exams was reasonable, but I felt that the timing could have been better coordinated to avoid conflicts with other academic commitments. The difficulty level of the exam was challenging but manageable with adequate preparation.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd year onwards you are eligible for placements. In 6th semester placements starts taking place although most of the companies come in 7th and 8th semester. as Recession is going on for technical profiles less companies are coming and more of non technical profiles like mostlt sales profile are coming. As a BTech student no one wants to go in sales division as why are we even doing Btech if we have to go to sales department so that is a disadvantage. Also mass recruiters did not come this year for recruitments , Wipro came for 3.6lpa and cognizant for onlt 2.6lpa which is outrageous and they did nit even take a lot of students. It is a bitter truth but nowadays company wants even freshers to be highly qualified otherwise you won't get any placement. The test level is increased so try to give test with your friends only In my batch only 40% students got placed that too around 28% either got less package or non technical profile

I was fond of learning the computer science course since it was my dream to study that. The faculty members are good enough and the teaching involved the traditional mode and has the best outcome at all. All teachers are properly qualified with master's degrees. Exams are conducted twice in one semester and are of moderate type.
