Course Curriculum Overview
The Computer Science curriculum with a focus on IoT, Cybersecurity and Blockchain technology at BMSCE is highly relevant and comprehensive. The inclusion of these areas reflects industry demands and influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum's emphasis on practical implementation through projects prepares students well for real-world applications and further academic pursuits.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are typically offered by companies like Mahindra, Infosys, NVIDIA, JP Morgan etc., in roles such as software development, data analysis and cybersecurity. Stipends vary based on the company and role. Projects during internships may include software development for client projects, data analysis for business insights, cyber security implementations and assessments etc. Outcomes often involve delivering tangible solutions, gaining industry experiences, and developing professional skills,
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from the 7th semester onwards. Companies like Accenture, TCS, Delloite, Infosys, Wipro, Cisco, Intel, Mahindra, and Mercedez often visit. The highest package can go above 50lpa. And the average ranges from 6 to 8lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
If one gets admission through KCET, his/her fees won't increase throughout his/her 4 years in the college. The fees for KCET students will be almost constant every year. The first-year fees will be around 90k. And the same will happen for the next 3 years. That means around 4 lakhs for the complete 4 years including tuition, service, exam fees.
Campus Life
BMSCE's "Utsav" is the biggest annual fest in Bengaluru. Along with we have "Phaseshift" the biggest technical festival in south part of India. There are more than 20 active clubs in the college. Students are encouraged to join any club. Also BMSCE actively participates in VTU's sports events every year. The library is aesthetically located in a centre place of the college and is housed in a big and spacious building with a floor area of 4599 sq. mts.
Hostel Facilities
The first, second and third-year students are offered two or three sharing rooms to stay. The fourth-year students are offered single sharing rooms. And students get a table, chair, light, fan, and couch to sleep on. When it comes to mess, you'll never find such tasty and healthy food in any hostels in Bengaluru. For the registration process, one has to reach the hostel office, which is located inside the college campus.
Admission
I got admission here through Karnataka-CET. I got Computer Science Engineering(IoT, Cybersecurity including Blockchain Technology). The cut-off for my branch in 2022 was around 3000 for GM. The KCET is a common entrance exam for the engineering colleges of Karnataka. Students can get admission to engineering colleges in Karnataka through KCET.
